Help with Arkhan the Black
Frustrating campaign. I play on normal, but have been trying some legendary strategies I've seen, basically luring the knights of whatever out of their city and ambushing or at least getting a field battle. But the AI is super passive and isn't taking the bait. So, my question, am I stuck turtling until I have 2 armies, or can I rush that first city with any hope of winning? How do you manage Arkhan's early game?

He plays on legendary where the AI is more aggressive. I've played through 20 turns twice now, where the Bretonnians sit on their ass.

If I remember rightly, you should move to your minor settlement on the island muster for I think 3 or 4 turns(do global and local), the Bretons will send their army to capture your capital where you can catch them with their pants down and either go up and take out their settlement or fight their stack in the desert. I would build defences in your capital btw they are so good and you may be able to use the ability agaisnt them.

Another way was getting a near full stack like 16-18 units and camping near the bridge to see if they will attack and you can funnel them into a choke and demolish them.

I'll try sitting at that choke point next. But the AI on normal hasn't been attacking. Do you think it's possible to take that first city even with its garrison?

Maybe I think I could do it as I play on veryhard/hard, Bretons only make low tier infantry and cavalry I think they are still bugged as they never upgrade the barracks. Just make alot of spears with crypt ghouls and try rushing, if its T3 then I think you need to bait them out with inferior stack, remember to make your stack weaker intentionally if your trying to bait them into figthing you on the bridge, I think you need a max of 16 units no more.

Maybe that's the problem. I've been rushing a 20 stack to get the catapult, but maybe I should delete some units right after to try to sweeten the bait. Thanks.

I just looked at it, I think you can raise a 20 stack and take the settlement(the AI just sits there and doesn't muster anything for a few turns but you need to take your time with the battle the starting bretonnia army is quite nasty, being all halberds.

I have tried doing this right at the start, you might get better luck as your more progresed. I had to delete both crypt ghouls and skeleton spear just for them to come out, and the bretonnia army is really nasty being all AP, not enough to take the settlement after that battle.
