large .exe = denuvo still present despite not present on storepage?
as the tittle asks... I'm wondering if denuvo is still present in this game despite not being shown on the storepage...
I have tried to figure out wether or not to buy troy since denuvo has been listed on every total war game since warhammer 2 ( I have deliberately not bought "three kingdoms" cause of denuvo) as I have read... a large .exe file close to 500mb tend to show the presence of denuvo in the game... the present warhammer2.exe clocks in at 489193KB which is remarkably close to 500mb...

as such I am a tad worried that the game still has denuvo built in... despite it no longer being shown on the storepage...

I deliberately didn't buy this game till denuvo was removed from the storepage and I havn't bought a single game with denuvo built in for years...

now that troy was released and I'm weary of all "major" publishers and how they treat their costumers like criminals (when I buy a game I don't expect to be treated like I'm a illegally copying a game... that's the bare minimum I expect... I hand over money... you treat me like I didn't do anything wrong...)

tldr: I was just wondering if the game still has denuvo cause the .exe file is rather large

No one cares.

It has Denuvo and it's not really depicted by the store pages from games using it any longer.

the fact that I care makes your statement false...

and if you didn't care... why are you here?

To let you know that no one else cares.

You're welcome.

Yes. (Both)

considering that both games do not show denuvo on their storepages...

I'm pretty sure that has some pretty hefty consumer trust issues right there...

ahwell guess I'll throw troy out of my cart

Google is as much a source of information as disinformation... first 2 pages were basicly people asking if it had denuvo... most of these at the least 1 year old... and none about the steam version... so... yeah... I did NOT come here as a first choice.

it's not listed on the storepage... so it's more a question of "huh? what's this then?" than outright hate...

If you want to have denuvo in your game that's fine... I won't buy it... if you don't have it on the storepage and have it in the game... then you're being extremely underhanded...

personally I really dislike drm that puts any burden on my computer. (and don't give me "it's negliable" if my pc uses resources on anything other than what I want, I at the least want to be able to exclude those programs from my purchases)

(as for analytics... I really dislike companies using my resources for their profit without direct recompence and hidden from me... if you want to f. me at least be upfront about it)

Others would have just opened the file in a random fileviewer, hit the generic shortcut CTRL+F, would have typed in 'denuvo' and pressed ENTER = simple as that.

Total Commander has one built in, but tools like Notepad++, any random portable hex-editor or similar would have done the job, without going thru pseudo postings on google, where you obviously have wasted more time instead of doing so.

If it satisfies your curiosity and you are too lazy for such simple solutions:
/.a.n.t.i.t.a.m.p.e.r.d.i.a.g.n.o.s.i.s.......@.denuvo_atd

allrighty then... it's in the game and not on the storepage... awesome... guess that's the last time I'll buy anything from CA... have fun

Went and checked the WH1 page, and it is listed as having Denuvo. I think it's safe to assume that this does as well, as to why it was removed from the store page? Probably best to get in touch with Steam & CA about it. Might be an accident, might not be. If this game does have Denuvo, then yes, it should be listed on the Steam page.

I'm guessing since CA was, until recently still releasing DLC for this, that would be their excuse? If so, then I would guess it will still be around for WH3, and all the DLC for it as well.

Not a fan of DRM like Denuvo, and I'm also not a fan of all the hackers/pirates stealing games. So, I'll continue cursing both groups in equal measure.

Edit: I did send in a support ticket to Sega/CA about it.
