I personally don't have that FLC, I don't like signing up for more things. So I can't say myself.
Use mods to buff and expand them. Without mods they fall off.
The same goes for the Ogres' ranged variants in Vampire Counts armies.
Also ogres barely every completely flee until the last ogre is down. which for armies that have major problems caused by low morale is a godsend.
But their poor armor compared to certain other heavy units can be a liability. I would say they are 100% worth using to supplement any faction lacking their kind of heavy unit, but if you have - say - Rat Ogres or Kroxigors and late-game buffs to go with them - you might want to avoid them.
As humans? You lack super-heavy infantry like that, so they can be helpful.
As vampire counts? I got tons of use out of them when they supplemented skeleton spam and such, because while my regular units mopped up damage and held the front line - they were invaluable for breaking through difficult areas.
It really depends.
