Eshin Clan Contracts (Great council meeting contracts) Are Broken
Noticed the issue with mods, disabled a few mods, was able to get it to work, but then wanted to see what caused it. Got frustrated after a while and disabled all mods. Issue is still there. Decided to do a clean reinstall in case the mods had remaining files that were still around. Deleted everything, moved saves to new spot, etc. Reinstalled Warhammer 2 without mods. Issue still persists, don't know how to fix it.

From some googling and reading I did, this issue has been around since the release of Clan Eshin (Shadow and the Blade DLC). Now I've started Eshin before on prior updates and the issue was not there, but I wanted to start a new game with the new updates and just have a fresh start in general, but I can't seem to find a fix anywhere for it other than some janky confederation fix someone found a year ago which may not even work.

The issue is that every time the game loads, either from starting a new game, loading a save file, or even loading a manually played battle, the timer for Clan Contracts resets. In the early game this means having a timer of 2 and after the initial timer finishes, this means going up to 10. That means to get a new contract I can't engage in any manual battle for 10 turns straight, which simply isn't ideal for Skaven in general, let alone mr. backstab. Something worth noting is that at the start of a new game eshin is supposed to get a clan contract right off the bat and with this bug they do not get it (correct me if I'm wrong. Even if I am wrong on this, loading the campaign map still results in the timer resetting.) When the timer resets it doesn't simply reset to 2 or 10, but rather 0. In the testing I did, this was always consistent regardless of loading a save or loading the map after a battle.

Oddly enough, loading up a save that didn't have the bug prior, continues to be fine and bug-free. This includes my old saves as well as the one-off save that actually functioned properly that I made today (I tried reproducing the mod conditions and everything but couldn't get a second new game to create without the bug).

Additionally, one of my friends and I were starting a new campaign the other day in co-op and I was playing eshin and it was working just fine. No idea if this is just bad luck or if this is a single-player only bug, but it makes it quite hard to do diplomacy with the other skaven, which Eshin I felt was supposed to have an easier time with compared to the others.

Issue is on both Vortex and Mortal Empires Campaigns

Was there ever a fix for this? Can't refund dlc and this game breaking bug still exists?

Support for the second game has ended, play the 3rd. Community patch might fix this if you want to play the 2nd. Otherwise I'm unaware.

its not a base game or eshin issue idk what your mods did but im honestly not suprised there is an issue.

typically if you delete the mods and do a fresh install and there is still issues then its a cahce somewhere and i hoenstly would not be suprised if you cant find it. its a known problem with drm heavy games and companies like ca when it comes to modding which is why alot of people just throw their hands up and give up now.

if you did a fresh os install and a fresh game install it would fix it because the cache file goes away with the os install unless there is something always online on ca end.

Lol. I played couple ozens of games with eshin, both vortex and ME, both modded and unmodded, both single and coop and have not encountered such a thing (or have not noticed in some late sttages of campaign if it appears there).

Mind you, i play lege/vh, so earlygame, even parts of midgame are ALL manual battles. Sometimes everal per turn.

So whatever causest this, it is not common. I actually never heard of it at all, that is first time i am reading about it.
Sucks if it is happening, but i would perform CLEAN iinstall and see if it helps, cause it seem to me as non-specific issue with overhaul mods (SFo and such). And just uninstalling mods wont resolve it. And obviously you would need to create new savefile to check if it helps, cause error could be embedded into file itself.

Also, have you tried save editing? Maybe it would give you an idea what happened.

and i provided additional info for those, who would encounter it and search for it, like that guy did. Also if you dont care you would not be answering that. Dont get defensive. If you not gonna bother - just ignore, and if you do - report results plz, as we obviously cant check it on our part.

Its just the desplayed number that is bugged, you will still get contracts, yiu just wont be able to..."plan" for them, so just have a couple extra hero/lords in you roster and name them "agents", i have the exact same issue, on my FIRST campaign ever, after reding throught half the internet, nobody had a clear answer or explonation what/why this bug is happening, i got a fresh contract the very next turn, so dont panic
