Deepwood Scouts and Waywatchers for AI
Do they have snipe when the AI use them? I haven't noticed them having Snipe when I play them nor in multiplayer. Best I found was being in a dense forest and shooting from deep inside and you will stay unspotted. Anyone else notice the AI cheating like this?

they don't have snipe at all, but master ambusher.

snipe was introduced way later afaik. once enemy closes in, your waywatchers/waystalker/deepW scouts are visible.

they have big range. doubt that this is ai cheats. you gotta move units somewhat cose so u can see them, and forest stalker gives additional defense + accuracy bonus.

How come their units don't get seen when at the same range as my waywatchers or deepwoods though?

Which enemies were doing the spotting? Some units reduce the effectiveness of stalk and similar line of sight effects.

The AI don't get specific extras like that, if they could get it through something then the player could get it through something too.

*(assuming its not player error in seeing what is happening)

Why are you fighting Eternal Guard in the first place?

But no, I was thinking maybe you were dealing with units that had Predatory Senses or similar.

no mods, and its more fun to take Athel Lauren right away than attack small surrounding crapholes that you can't build anything in. So I'm always fighting my own type of troops. Have no clue why as soon as my deepwoods and waywatchers shoot instantly they are spotted while it takes until about 90m that any of my units can spot their WW or DWS shooting rightinfront of my face

Honestly it sounds like a mod faction effect or rite or sth.

AI units do not get additional traits that players would not have were the roles reversed. Period.

But if they are behind a hill for example and have few units on your side of the hill, and you don't have units on their side or flyers then they still can shoot at you (because all units share LoS for spotting) but you can't see them.

That is aside of mods the only other explanation and that is what I'd call user error.

waystalker with his snipe is the only person who I myself can have shoot without being seen.

he just got to close to the enemy units imo. stalk only has that much range... waywatchers work as intended, period. spamming them was my fetish in my WE campaign, so i know well enough. only complaint about them is that they sometimes moved weird in groups, but that was likely my klickings fault.
