Is it me or Orcs have really bad damage spells?
Foot of Gork is the only decent damage spell they have
Brain Basta doesnt do any damage
Curse of da bad moon looks great but IF it hits anything, the damage is close to none
The only none damage spells they have are pretty good, but when the empire spams artillary units the lack of nukes is real

Brain Bursta does quite some damage, the cone icon is a bit misleading, you need to aim slightly further from the front as the wave hits further than the icon indicates. However, Brain Bursta is weak against armor I believe, and you can probably only use it on blobs. So, if you have Foot of Gork then you don't really need Brain Bursta, but early game (or when you've just recruited your Orc Shaman) it's pretty useful.

Greenskins don't really need a lot of damage spells, most Lores of magic only have around 2 good damage spells and others are utility spells.

Foot of Gork is good.
Curse of Bad Moon is vortex, so suffers from that.
Brain Bursta is good against unarmoured and Headbutt doesnt have that much range.

The other one is reasonable

Foot of Gork is one of the best DD AOE spell in the game because its effective against armor and its not a vortex, it's reliable aoe where you want it.

Vortex spells are more damaging, but extremely risky to use. I've had plenty of friendly kills on my entire infantry line as the vortex just goes wherever randomly.
Brain bursta is godlike against lightly armoured units. Slap that bad boy on some archers when you're attacking a city and it'll delete half of them. Foot of Gork is super effective against cavalry for some reason.

Their buff spells are probably good but no one can bring themselves to use buffs instead of explosions so we'll never know.

Seemed pretty good vs unarmored to me, I tend to like explosions and not a lot of lores provide. Though the main draw to ork magic to me is the buffs. +40 MA? +24 MA and MD and magic damage? Yeah those are amazing.

It leaves some to be desired compared to Fire, Death and Heavens.

That said almost everything leaves something to be desired when you see what a well placed Comet of Casandora does, especially to armored infantry. It's the closest thing to launching a nuke that isn't a literal nuclear missile.

If you thought Orks had poor damaging spells, wait till you play the Dwarves.

Brainbursta on the walls, and unarmoured targets - It also has a fast cast rate, along w/ rather large AOE; which means it's ideal for fast moving skirmishers as well.

Flame Cannons and Iron Drakes are the Dawi lore of magic. ;)

Which you'll never get to because they don't show up until tier 5. And Dwarves have the slowest growing provinces of all factions. Nagash could probably get Nagazisshar to tier 5 before the Dwarves do.

It's sad when a faction's growth rate is SLOWER THAN THE TOMB KINGS, WHICH ARE A BUNCH OF UNDEAD MUMMIES WHO DON'T PROCREATE.

The Dwarves create new children about as quickly as the Japanese.

Where *do* dwarfs come from?

He just likes to talk about how much he does not like dwarves touting nonsense at every turn. You'll get used to it.

Little Waaagh spells are mostly about debuffs and buffs, but Curse of da Bad Moon is a cheap and decent vortex vs low armor infantry(and is also a good debuff), while Vindictive Glare is excellent vs large targets(also very cheap).

Big Waaagh is mostly about damage in different shapes. Gaze of Mork is excellent vs large targets, it is cheap, and probably the easiest way for you to snipe enemy arty with spells when playing Greenskins.

A Death caster troll can also deal with arty ok by overcasting Spirit Leech, but personally I think it is a bit of a waste of WoM.

That being said, you have a lot of other ways of dealing with enemy arty than spells.
