How to maintain Mortal Empires as the Wood Elf Twins
So i'm playing Mortal Empires and i'm not super great at the game, but decent on tactics in the war part of it. What I'm really struggling with right now is maintaining an economy as the wood elves in the new rework. I get the settlements thing and I get the movement from forest to forest.

However, I'm not able to sustain more than one army without absolutely bankrupting myself. I'm supposed to somehow maintain home base in the Witching Woods but also travel to the other forests and field armies against those now confederated factions? It takes a full stack of 20 to take on their multiple stacks of 20 and its just not doable with the current set up, unless I"m doing something massively wrong? Am I supposed to just abandon the witching wood and not keep the dark elves from taking it over (which they are confederating and currently doing of course)?

Also I thought I could do the ritual more than once in the same forest, is this not the case? I HAVE to travel to each forest and take them out and do the ritual? Furthermore, I'm not seeing any movement on Athel Loren after doing the ritual at my homebase to the West, whats up with that?

And what is the main difference between wardancers and blade singers?

That's by design. Their economy has been nerfed into oblivion, and the blue line skills that reduce upkeep are now absolutely essential.

I just got past the point where I can sustain more than 2 army at turn 50. I own two forrests. Witchwood and the one in ulthan. Both of them is totally secured by my allies. I earn a fair bit from trade also (just remember to link up to a port settlement).
The twins earn a lot of money from just going around plundering naggarond, while my two other armies is right now going to secure a third tree region.

The campaign plays differently than the other races, and is a bit harder, but not that difficult from my experience. Just wait and see. You will be rich enough if you play your hands right.

Edit: You can only do the ritual once in each forrest, or else it would be to easy.

I havn' tried blade singers yet.

Anyway hawk riders are super powerful in the twins campaign, so if you wanted to cheese, you can doomstack them and go to town (though thats boring imo).

Jeez how? I've captured everything around the Witchwood and was doing fine, then the dark elves and high elves just kinda kept marching in to fight me. I was winning, but I wasn't able to break out. I started to build a second army to travel to another one in Uthuan and not only was i fighting like...every high elf ever, I couldn't sustain BOTH armies, so they just collapse.

WHich port city are you able to get and do you raze everything around you or do you build settlements there? I keep having dark elves wander in to build stuff on what i've razed and its pulling me in 30 different directions with my 1 unaffordable army.

I think you forgot about diplomacy. I have been allied with the high elves all through the game.
By turn 10 i wiped out alarielle and took her forrest, but the other HE didnt mind as long as I declared war on there dark elves enemies.

I figured when I startet the campaign that I would do everything to keep the HE on my good side, and it worked. You really dont want to get the donut to send wave after wave of armies after you.

Wood elf economy is: destroy and raze everything that isn't a Wood Elf (or Empire and dwarves if you want some decent trade income)

Is it better to play the sisters campaign in Vortex or Me in your opinion?

Does the camapaign feel designed for both, or just for vortex?

I tried to ally with the high elves, but it was pretty tough when they took out all the settlements near me, built them up, and were stopping the forest from healing. THey weren't being nice about it so i had to war dec them to just get my forest right. And now everyone is just sending wave after wave. Waves I can beat in combat, but can't beat via attrition, its super frustrating. THen we have randomly spawning beastmen and its a recipe for disaster.

It would be a lot more palatable if i could just afford to maintain enough troops to compete, but I can't.

at the sisters place i keep atleast the 4 settlements as outpost great way to bait NPCs too then trying to get a place that hase a dock so ican trade and have a good relationship with the high elfs so that they trade with me and earn alot more gold that way then make sure you build the oak of ages to be abled to confedirate with other wood elves and soon you get there lands you can expand your incom that way too it takes some work but it sure not imposable since i can say i have so many gold now i dont even know where to spend it now lol

ow + keeping your army in zones where you restored nature + if you get it to 100 it decreases your soldiers upkeep alot too aslong they are in there settlements witch is nice too since that makes me abled to have 4 armys right now ofcourse if they run out i lose like 1000 gold a turn but if they are back in the towns like 4500 gold a turn up

So you basically just challenge Malekith to invade you immediately>?

You can easily make friends with HE by hitting Morathi or any of the other DE factions nearby. I had Nagarthye at +50 by turn 20.

You'll need the most cost efficient armies. You should be running nothing but Hawk Rider DOOMSTACKS with a single Zoat or treekin for siege attacker.

Prioritize blue line, especially battle income and upkeep reduction.

You are probably doing something wrong in your army setup and how you play battles.
Sisters are very strong, hawk riders are borderline OP, normal archer units are as strong as ever (and in general sisters have a nice upkeep reduction for anything that shoots), Ariel is a beast.

Sisters stack with some tweaks (throw out the Great Stag Knights rather soon, costs too much for what it delivers) alone made me conquer whole Naggarond with absolutely 0 issues. Her stack also doesn't cost me that much (3k something)? So I could easily field another RoR +treeman stack when needed from the battle loot and occupying/razing alone.

Every Forest basically pays for one effective missile stack, and the post battle loot pays for all building costs. If you have trade agreement (HE are great for that) you can field at least another stack. This all should be enough to defend your forests and pay enough for at least 1-2 more stacks to actually conquer stuff.

I haven't been abusing Hawkriders. I use them, but most of my battle has glade guard with a ton of shooty guys and a few cavalry to mess with any fast units that evade the arrows. Wouldn't hawkriders just get shot down pretty quickly>?

And if i restart i can maybe try to do the HE alliance thing. They all quickly moved in and took all the surrounding heathland while I was rooting out skaven and skellingtons so if I wanted to actually heal anything I had to attack them to kick them out.

I also dislike the raze thing because its great to raze it and have it heal, but it also means friendly, but not allied armies can just come up and take it, ruining the healing bonus and there isn't anything you can do about it other than declare war on the entire faction. For example, a quest had me take every surrounding area, but the much stronger than me Malekith swooped in and took them since they were razed and now I have to declare war on the strongest faction near me just to proceed and it bleeds the coffers dry.

No. Hawk riders wreck face. The key is that you can kite infinitely with them. They can also launch their arrows of kunos from beyond the range of enemy ranged units.

Once you Arrow of Kunos down they ranged units, the rest of their army is just a slow foot army with absolutely no way of hurting your units.

Your army should be:

1 Zoat (for siege attacker, melee unit on ground, and regrowth)
13 Hawk Riders
1 Lord.
1 Shadow Mage.

Totally unstoppable. Everyone except the Zoat and maybe the Lord is flying (both of whom you can hide in forest). So once their ranged is eliminated there's absolutely nothing the AI melee can do except sit there and slowly die to cycle charges on isolated units, pit of shades, or more Arrows of Kunos.

Once their ranged is eliminated by arrows of kunos, the battle is a bunch of people with swords fighting the equivalent of Apache helicopters.
