I mean I guess that if you like looking at you clicking auto resolve every battle it should be kinda pointless to put any artistic depth and effort into anything happening in the battlefield of the game whatsoever. Quantity over quality Am I rite?
Who cares about hard work put into stuff. Nobody will notice it anyway.
I think the point is that, even if you did give the Zoats custom attack animations, the effort and time spent doing that would yield much less noticeable and interesting results than if the same effort was put into other things and you just used the dragon ogre animations. Like, they look fine with those animations, and so the choice is between making another set of animations that they'd also look fine with or adding, say, other units or fleshing out Drycha's faction or something.
If reusing animations for creatures with similar body types and function is such a huge issue to you then you must really hate this game considering how many units use the same animations like archers, horsemen, spearmen, footlords, etc.
If two units have near identical body types and do very similar things, I don't see what's the issue with reusing the same animation sets. Would having a high elf archer and wood elf archer have slightly different firing animations really add that much quality to the game? Does having a bretonnian horse and empire horse move the exact same way really shatter your immersion or ruin the game for you?
I don't care if the new lizard centaurs swing their hammers like dragon ogres, but can they at least not use the same sound file when they do it?
And at least this reskin makes sense. I'm not sure if they fixed the moronic decision to give Khalida some dark elf sorceress melee animations, which made her about as effective a duelist as a wet towel.
How is that even remotely relevant?
