Wood Elf Eagles
How do they compare to the High Elf ones? I know the HE ones kinda stink.

I'd say about the same even though I dont have numbers at hand. Fast but too thin to be realy cool.
However I watched a 10-min youtube video and noticed they are tier-2 now - while they were tier-4 before. At tier-2 they will be OK, especially if the building is needed at higher levels too. There were hawk riders at tier 3 and something at tier-4 but I can't recall what exactly.

Wow. Tier 2 is really good then. You get shadow mages at tier 2.

Upd: Ah, the dragons at tier-5 are at the same chain now. Well, if you hate doomstacks or doom half-stacks as do I, you can definitely give eagles at tier2 and dragons at tier5 a try. I like a variety in armies - at least when I have 3 or more, it quickly becomes boring if they are all the same or 90% the same.

HE Eagles make for great placeholders for higher tier flyers since moving into that area is a good idea, what helps HE eagles scale(and combat the battle difficulty) is ranks which is so easy to get with HE, even in the late game you can still use 1-2 great EaGLES with better high tier flyers to carry them(you just have to use them on different targets). So basically HE have a good excuse to run many Great eagles but I find its not similar with WE because the area does not scale remotely aswell, WE now also don't seem to have issues with their cavalry, accessing ranks was also more difficult(not sure about now) however there is at atleast a good new tech which buffs them think its the 5000 cost one. WE Eagles will have good synergy with pure skirmish based comps how many you would run might be 2-3 max.

Great Eagles would also be a fine fit in pure aggressive based comps so Durthu quite versatile but there scalability needs to questioned n higher difficulties, grabbing the oreon Bowmen camp quickly seems like a good idea.

CA have been generous to move the great eagle to T2, I feeling now like why are HE's in T3 but anyway.

Add in a shadow mage and 5 treekin for sieges and 13 eagles or hawkriders IS a doomstack.

Wood elf air armies may be the most cost efficient army out there. With a shadow mage they're INSANELY powerful. You can sacrifice an eagle, enemy globs around it, followed by PIT OF SHADES. Unlike the skirmish armies you never run out of ammo, and you can never get caught.

Are mages still at tier 2 for Wood Elf?

Will have to see after rework. Earlier they used to cost amber I think. Or was that eagle riders? For Orion that is.

I think so

One thing I will say is army comps for WE atleast can be designed based on office system and if you look at master of scout office its basically your skirmish based army, it has everything you need deepwood scouts, eagles, hawk riders and glade riders also nice movement bonus and upkeep(if stacked) and can double there effect when wild hunt triggers.

eagles were already tier 2 if you took the parravon or something settlement directly to the west of WE forest, and they are ok. more of a support unit but they are a great option to pair up with skirmishing archers fx, taking out any unit that reach them

gold for gold eagles trade favorably or are en par with most flying units, cavalry, ranged and some monstrous infantry, they dont do well vs anything else, and dont do well vs antilargeunits of any kind, but AI is bad at fighting flying so you can focus down units

Its an elven landmark, so y not.

I found eagles great artillery muggers, seem to wreck arty faster than most flyers and pretty cheap. Versus men or Dwarves very useful. Otherwise a bit of a wasted slot IMO.

We would need every single 9 slot added which is alot of +% to income and 2 buildings slots, I don't believe we get them exaclty like that should have been what I meant to say, I just checked couronne doesn't give 10% and only has one building slot cant remeber if uit had two, the landmark building is still there though which the youtuber didnt bother to build. The 9 slots may give two slots and a bonus to income I don't know.... couronne is only a seven so that nerf does make sense.

I am not very experienced in schools. What spell in Shadow lore makes the school so cool, in particular in regard to the eagles?
