I can't find the Herdstone

I realize I need to find and destroy the herdstone before I can get the taint of Chaos from the lands but I can't find it. I've spent about 10 turns traveling around trying to find it. What am I doing wrong? Any help appreciated thanks!

Look for a beastmen settlement in regions adjacent.

The herdstones are in settlements. If you see a bunch of settlements with the mark that prevent settling there surrounding a settlement that doesn't have that mark, the one without the mark is probably the one with the herdstone.

Wait..the Herdstone is INSIDE a settlement? How do I know which one? Does the settlement look different?

If you are dealing with a randomly generated beastmen army invasion, it’s the army you need to find. They are in ambush stance when encamped.

A big rock is placed over any settlement that has a herd stone.

So the red herdstone marker over the ruined settlement that can't be colonized is meaningless? Defeating the beastmen horde destroys the herdstone?

Nm, I found the settlement in an adjacent province where the main building is literally called "herdstone." I'll kill them and see if it helps.

The herdstone IS a settlement, it'll have the icon of a beastmen faction that raised it
