Total War: WARHAMMER II

Total War: WARHAMMER II

What would've happened if GW licensed Warhammer Fantasy to Blizzard?
As some of you may know, Blizzard wanted to make a Warhammer Fantasy game, but GW refused so they went with their own game called... Warcraft.

What would have happened, however, if GW gave Blizzard a license for Warhammer Fantasy games? In the least, wouldn't we have been spared the abomination called Age of Sigmar and still have our Warhammer Fantasy Battle going strong? ;(

Age of Sigmars release was, according to GW, based on WHFBs tabletop sales. There's no guarantee that Blizzard doing Warhammer way back then would have influenced tabletop sales enough to mitigate its flagging sales 2 decades later.

Honestly, the flagging sales were due to GW being too greedy as usual. Regiment recommended sizes along with tiny boxes that cost quite a lot meant no one wanted to start an army for 8th edition. Just buying your Core was usually more than a whole 40k army.
People would be playing World of Warhammer right now. Warhammer 40k would be #1 strategy game in Korea and noone would ever have produced Total War: Warhammer.

I am actually glad Blizzard was only allowed to produce their cheap Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40k knockoff.
Blizzard wont take the licensed since they since they already have a "parody" of Warhammer Fantasy.
