I selected "opt out of all betas" and reinstalled, also.
My launcher still reads as version 1.9.2 (version that ran before updating to win 10)
Is that the version that works for you?
OP, after the upgrade, have you downloaded all the Win 10 updates, including Security and Visual Studio Updates? The "Black Screen then back to Desktop" crash definitely sounds like a runtime error.
Also, I reacquired the C++ but did not manually find and download security updates. I've had win10 installed for 2 weeks and let everything update and have it set to auto.
I will look further into the visual studio updates- my C++ visual says it was last modified on the 14th of this month (a week after I moved to 10)
I doubt theres any repairs needing done, but will look into it after work tomorrow. I'll try a DISM check first then a SFC if that doesn't work.
Be nice if CA would be able to find somethin in my minidumps but their site keeps booting me out before i can write a report. (8 hrs so far troubleshooting this game, My buddy is a pc engineer and he is utterly baffled as well)
i had a similar retarded problem like this a long time ago and had to do some janky stuff like this to get it to work again .. but sounds like a gpu driver issue. also some of the newer drivers are complete garbage and actually make the game perform worse.
Don't know if doing the process in safe mode is the key, but I'm down for trying anything new. Thanks.
That can make a huge difference. There's a reason Microsoft recommends you never perform in-place upgrades for any production machines.
All scans say my OS is not in need of repair.
I havent used the DDU, is that different than manually wiping them? (I cleaned out every old Display driver and C++ Vis studio already)
Everything I have done so far has no effect. Launcher looks fine, I click play and screen goes black for 10 seconds and back to desktop. REALLY seems like a driver issue but not sure what else I can do for it.
*Edit* - Just installed the Warhammer 1 and that works fine.. I wonder what is so different about WH2 that it won't work?
