Tomb kings are possibly the easiest campaign faction. Basically all your armies are free so as long as you have 1 city you will eventually have 10 stacks + and overwhelm the map.

ah ty for the response

They're not hard in my opinion but they have a certain playstyle which might not equate best to a lot of ther factions. They're quite different since their armies don't require payment or upkeep.

I had a lot of fun with them, you will be able to make them work but afterwards when you play a faction that does indeed army payment and upkeep make sure not to carry over Tomb King habits.

Not really, Nagash have not a really good starter and their army suck in early game.

Nagash is made to be a hard start same with the Priest guy. Settra on the other hand probably has the easiest start out of any race in both games.

While Tomb Kings are super easy once you get a good grip on their quirks, I'd say High Elves are probably the best for getting the full "Total War" experience for a newbie.

The going is tough for Tomb Kings...
until turn 20 when you start recruiting constructs
Just make sure you pick Settra, because he rules and will happily demonstrate why. They are seemingly pretty simple from there; don't rely too much on your infantry, they seem to be there for fodder or to hold a line. Just turtle up until you can get some constructs really and you should have little issues with any other faction near you. At least I didn't and Settra just becomes stupid when he gets his own giant to ride around on.

I haven't gotten around to the other ones though. I was gonna try snake lady next for more of a challenge. I don't really have a lot of interest in Nagash's flunky. :/

Khalida is easy. The sentinels of xeti pose an interesting initial challenge, but even without constructs they are easily defeated (on very hard). Then you get your first tomb scorpion and ushabti and the challenge is over
As someone who recently started to play Warhammer 1+2 and Total War in general, i would say it's up to what you define as Newbie. As Bloodyhell Newbie i can say, i'm not fond of first try tomb kings, because if you aren't fond of all Basics due their new Playstyle they mess with you and the Game gets more confusing, like no Cost's for your Armies, but you have limit choice... or Crafting, or hunt for Books of Nagash

However if you know the Basics and are more of the "advanced" "Newbie" i expect they are pretty playable...

I think Settra and Khalida ez to play if you know the mechanics and playstyle of them , Settra will war with some Orcs and they armies stronger than you , just use your Lion robot tank them and use Charriot backstab them

I was actually hoping it'd be harder. :(

Oh well, still gonna have to give her a try soon. I read her lore and stuff already...I mean she's no Settra but who is? Other than Settra of course...

Well depends on how good a player you are... I am a VH/Legendary player main so lords with 'normal' initial difficulty is of no problem. But yeah, go for exiles if you want a challenge. from what I hear the DE pose a dangerous initial threat

played setta and yep was very easy even for me. Thank you it honestly helped me get a good basic understanding of the game. just need to work on my troop movements and flanking better now
