How to use a witch hunter?
Maybe im missing something but as I'm told hes supposed to be an assasin hero? Whenever i tell him to attack something his shot is always "obstructed" and he just ends up running around alot and not able to catch anything it seems like. tips for using him?

în battle he's good for sniping...

but mainly he's the empire's only valid option to assassinate on the strategic level!

Point at everything and accuse it of heresy, objective complete.

I usually don't bother with him personally in armies. But probably for anti large stuff if I did. I'd rather use him outside of my army for his assassinate ability. I'm already giving a spot to a mage and battle priest of course and the empire captain is a maybe but probably. Just not enough room in my armies for me personally.

On the Campaign map he helps against enemy agents.

On the battlefield he has a decent debuf to help against specific targets and his missiles do quiet a bit of damage which makes him pretty good against elite units and monsters. Its your choice if you want to bring him or another group of handgunners both have different advantages to eachother.

I wish agent's did not fill up a slot in the 20 army limit. Or something like each army could have one or two agents only. Sometimes the ai attacks me with so many agents in their army its too easy.
campaign map MVP: assassinate, block army, sabotage walls

In battle witch hunters are the worst empire hero (possibly the worst in battle hero in the entire game). They dont buff allies like the priest or tank like the captain, and sure cant do what a mage does. Instead they have a inaccurate pistol that only really hits large targets (it does do nice damage when hitting, but a squad of handgunners does more) and are pretty much worthless in melee. The only good thing about them is the "accuse" ability. In general if you want to use them, have them going around the campaign map assassinating, dont waste time putting them in armies.

there a support character

use them to support other lords/heroes in sniping

and also they synergize REALLY well with hunstmen and other non AP missiles pop a accusation down lower armour and focus fire huntsmen on the heavily armoured monster of your choosing and watch them get deleted

i like em quite a bit but there not bad there just overshadowed by mages and warrior priests who are both better heroes

I heard that in WH2, Witch Hunters are actually pretty good in battle, though I haven't tried them out. Their pistol can shoot through enemies, so if you can get him on a flank, he can shoot a bunch of enemies at once.

Ranged heroes suck for the most part. Just use him to fire at large targets and he can't fire over friendly units, use him on the flank as an antagonist. His hat is the best feature on him. He can also assist in a duel when positioned 90 degrees from the opposing duelist. Bullets penetrate so don't shoot your own stuff.

His bullets pierce targets and do a lot of damage.

Makes him great against elite infantry like Black Orks - he will kill multiple in every shot.

For blocking....xD

"Whenever i tell him to attack something his shot is always "obstructed" " same as for Gunpowder units. put him on the flanks, put him in the frontline but between 2 Units (with a Gap) just remove whatever obstacle is in front of him. if the enemy is already engaged, flank around and shoot them in the back (does more damage anyway) put him on a higher elevation than the frontline works fine too. hide him in a forrest to the sides and wait for the enemy to engage your frontline, then jump out and have the entire enemy army with their backs towards you. or just click the little Crossed sword icon in the lower bar and thus send him into meele.
