GPU Temp is way to high
I've been getting dangerously high temps on my GTX 1060. I was getting over 80 degrees celsius no matter if my graphics were on low or ultra which made barely to no difference which frustrated me. So I decided to get MSI Afterburner and set my power limit to 50% and temp limit to 60 degrees celsius, but apparently Warhammer doesnt care about that and still goes up to 80 degrees celsius... I've tested the MSI Afterburner on other games and works like a charm but when it comes to total war games and Warhammer I and Rome II my computer sounds like it wants to die. So I have Vsync on and I also cleaned my PC last week of all the dust inside which helped my CPU temp most of all, is there anything else I can do?

Name of your CPU Cooler? How many case fans do you have? Is the 1060 a stock model or custom? Name of your motherboard?

Edit: When did you last apply thermal paste? Which brand?

Edit 2: 80°C isn't high thats bloody average. 1060 components are made to endure 105°C easy.

I dont know the name of my CPU Cooler but the CPU temp isnt the problem its actually always below 40 degrees celsius. One case fan but theres a total of 4 fans. I think its a stock model, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. Motherboard is custom from ASUS I think, its a prebuilt.

Your GPU temp is average for this game don't worry about it. If you want to reduce it maybe you can add a couple of extra 120 or 140mm fans and get the temperature down by another 5°C. Noctua makes excellent silent high performing 120 mm fans if you want to look into that.

Okay thanks its just nice to know the limits. Apparently it will stop at 92 degrees celsius to prevent damage but can whistand 100+ before any real damage i guess. Im just suprised that most TW games ignore the Afterburner. Also I would love to buy another fan if my case wasnt garbage with no capable expansion what so ever.

Its okayish i wouldnt go above 90 C

Add some more case Fans.

MY gpu stays around 60 C but its one with a freaking Huge cooler ( Gainward 1080 GLH Phoenix Golden Sample even Strong OC ) and my case got 3 Front fans 1 back 2 top All cables nicely made and its a huge case thats Important too for temperatures.

Sounds like your computer can fly lol. Once I get the money to get the fans I most definitly will I already have a case I can use.

Some GPU fans won't start to spin until they're 60-70c (depending on how manufacturer sets them) to stay quiet.
GAMER DOWN May 12, 2018 @ 1:44pm
My msi 1060 6gb stays peaks around 65c after hours of load. Im using 2 fans infront 1 exhaust with ther5 case. stock settings on the gpu. monitoring temps with msi afterburner

edit: some words

Shame you can’t fit more case fans beyond the one you have.........your video card is circulating warm air more than flushing cool air through it. One case fan is woefully insufficient for any half decent gaming rig.

I’d just go get a bigger case, for a fraction of the money you’ve spent on a 1060 you can get a reasonable case to do the job better.
