The "Warrior Priests" of Kislev
After rewatching this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFpfEyJtTDw&t=10s

I got asking "What could CA do with the possible priests of the three main gods of Kislev?"

So I thought it'd make for a good topic for a discussion.

I'll just cut to the chase so that this doesn't become too long.

Priests of Ursun
I honestly think that the Priests of Ursun should focus on being a pretty good fighter, but mainly be a "buff wagon" of a hero that grants all sorts of buffs to the damage, melee attack, and maybe charge bonus of nearby friendly units.

Though one special high end thing that I think they should get is the ability to summon a unit of Feral Bears to the field and maybe even have some specific buffs for Kislev bear units.

Priests of Dazh
I think that Priest of the Kislevite fire god Dazh should be decent fighters, but be both a buff wagon and a semi mage, with a few bound fire spells.

Though I think that one thing that they should get a passible aura ability that grants flaming attacks to nearby friendly units.

Priests of Tor
I think the Priests of Tor should be pretty simple. Just good fighters who have wield two handed axes, or maybe dual axes that have magical damage, since they are priests of the Kislevite thunder god.

As for special abilities, I think that they could gain a few lightning based bound spells or attacks.

Though I think that one should be a not green Krack's Call, being a bombardment of lightning, and the other should simply be an explosion that comes from a bolt of lightning striking the Priest of Tor and blasting everything around him.

But what do you guys think CA could do with the "warrior priests" of Kislev's gods?

But as for a secondary topic.

What do you guys think CA could do with the Warrior Priests of Ulric or possible Mor for the Empire?

You could actually read Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay's Realm of the Ice Queen book if you want to have an idea of what powers a Kislev Warrior Priest would have. But they wouldn't be anywhere near being a full on Wizard like a Liche Priest or a Damsel.

Priests of Ulric would likely have their powers based on what was listed in the Middenheim section of the Storm of Chaos supplement.

Ulrican Priest powers are:

Battle Howl - Increases Charge Bonus of the Warrior Priest and friendly units
Destruction - Magic explosion around the Warrior Priest, no friendly fire.
Winter's Chill - Enemies around the Warrior Priest have reduced Melee Attack
Fury of Ulric - Grants Immune to Psychology for the Warrior Priest and nearby friendly units

I don't think Priests of Morr have a chance of being made available as a Warrior Priest unit but Tome of Salvation will give you an idea of what their powers would be.

Well, I was thinking about how to translate them better to a TW rather than the RPG. So yeah.

And I would think that the priests of Daaz and Tor would have more akin to one or two "bound spells" rather than them having full lores of magic.

And the Cult of Morr was just the only other Empire god I could think of at the time of making this thread.

The Cult of Myrmidia would be a better fit for another Empire Warrior Priest, considering that like Ulric, Myrmidia is a war related deity but one focused on strategy and tactics.

I imagine that the powers would be

Blazing Sun - Magic Explosion around the priest
Command the Legion - Probably a boost the command aura of the priest by a lot
Dismay Foe - Priest gains Terror
Fury's Call - Priest and allied troops gain Frenzy
Inspired Leadership - Another Leadership / Morale booster
Shield of Myrmidia - Increases Armour of the priest and allied units
Skill of Combat - Increases Melee Attack
Spear of Myrmidia - Spear armed units gain an Armour Piercing Buff
Vengeful Wrath - Increases Melee Attack and Ranged Accuracy

Of course, only a couple of these powers should be implemented.

They could go for the wood elf style of skill lockouts if you pick certain options (spear focus [armor and ap spear buff] or morale focus [leadership buffs and terror]) would make for reasonable choice mini-lines.

Plus a generic clicky for AoE MA since fervent attacking seems to be a solid lore style for battlepriests in general (working those around them into a fervor) with their religion based shouty shouts.

That would honestly be awesome. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and in other sources like Mordheim, Warhammer Online and the older table top editions provides ideas for all kinds of powers. It would be cool if like say you are playing the Empire, you can focus your Warrior Priest / Lector to be more of a support character who buffs nearby troops, or a straight up front line fighter who can take damage or a magic damage dealer.

I didn't think of the Cult of Myrmidia, probably because I thought they'd be more of a Southern Realms thing.

But it does sound like a good idea either way.

Have there be at least two options for special abilities that the heroes can choose between so that they don't become OP.

I honestly think a lot of heroes should be similar to the Gorebull in that respect.

I'd also like to see some more options for the various types of lords and heroes so that they can be more than just a one trick pony sort of characters.

Yeah, in the tabletop you can customize the equipment of your Lords and Heroes. Like a Dwarf Lord can go into battle armed with an axe and pistol, a High Elf Prince could be armed with a Halberd and fly around on an Eagle or Dragon, a Bretonnian Lord can actually carry a Lance while mounted.

I get why CA made these Lords and Heroes along with their variants separate units but an equipment mechanic like in Three Kingdoms would fit well for Warhammer.

let CA deal with the units in game 3.

Imo, the warrior priests sound trash. but whatever.

game 3 should be hype regardless.

Yeah, I think that it would be be nice to be able to have a mechanic where you can switch the different types of weapons for your lord and heroes, though there'd be some limitations with some of them.

I mean, I think the whole Mixu weapon mount thing is cool and would work pretty well for some lords and heroes, but I do think that it'd be cooler to actually just be able to change the different types of weapons, at least if they're on foot anyway.

Well, Kislev will need more than just Ice Wizards as heroes.

And yeah, Warhammer 3 is probably going to be pretty awesome.
