He's making fun of the other guys thread about globalist agendas and yes I did laugh.
But yeah Norsca is quite fun. I really love their monster hunts and ability to get good weapons/armor etc. Also helps that Throgg is quite powerful(don't think I've ever touched wulfrik).
Beastmen are woefully outranked by the constant power creep.
Their biggest problem is balance rather than mechanics, as they terribly suffer from some of the changes from wh1 to wh2. They don't have walls to protect their turf so the fact that there is now potential enemies coming from the west and from the south west make them wayu more vulnerable, and at higher difficulties they suffer heavily from the increase of %upkeep malus per army compared to wh1 at the same difficulties.
They're not trash in any way or form, but they can be extremely hard/frustrating if you play at higher difficulties.
If your sole criteria for having fun is winning then just play on easy difficulty, you'll be strong and win every time
strong =/= fun to play
Beastmen are far more fun to play than the current Wood Elves and their clunky Amber system.
I won't argue with you there, Wood Elves get boring faster, actually for me they get boring once they quickly snowball into unstoppable monsters. Goes back to my point though, Wood Elves definitely get stronger faster than Beastmen do--that doesn't make them more fun to play.
They likely will, since they have one of the most incomplete rosters and a lot of missing LLs.
I want Taurox in the game so bad...
Hah.
Norsca is a strong faction as far as roster but personally I find their mechanics really anti-fun. Namely their economy sucks and their ability to settle is crippled. They can only settle in snowy regions as far as I've seen, despite other factions being able to settle anywhere, just with penalties. Instead you can raze settlements to put up icons to their gods to gain favor which... power up your troops but don't help your broken economy.
They're supposed to be raiders but they don't get an economy to support raiding while also doing anything productive. You almost have to play like a Horde and just save up tons of resources to just sustain your debt, hopefully snowballing and just taking city after city without stopping.
I actually would rather play Chaos or Beastmen when I want that playstyle. With Norsca it keeps trapping me in the idea that I am playing a normal faction when I'm not. They also have the same problem that Chaos and Beastmen have, which is that because you can't capture settlements, your enemies can just roll in and take them as free real estate. And because you need those icons to your gods, you suffer for it since you lose favor for every icon knocked down.
