What's the ideal first 20-50 turn strategy for Elthrion on vortex?
Attack fellow elves or ignore them and go straight for Broken Axe?

Are you meant to turtle in this campaign or aggressively expand?

Depends if you want to do rituals or not, stay small for rituals or get roflstomped by Skaven

Elthrion cant even do ritual maybe play as him first?

and imo during the first few moment is securing your two province. depending on your stance on abusing/cheese leaving one settlement for sack city/ prison farm. while constantly looking out for the Pirate army invasion.

Then From there you can turtle to straight up and do the final battle or expand towards the Three greenskin location, i usually just leave the other Elves alone to have maybe trade agreement and confederation going.

Eltharion's campaign makes it clear that you got to prepare the defenses of Yvresse for Grom's inevitable siege. Attacking fellow High Elves or even confederating is optional as what you should be doing is just making money and leveling Eltharion himself.

What I did was wipe out the greenskins, then Aranessa then the nearby norscans then go on a massive sacking spree in Nehekhara / Southlands to fund numerous construction projects.

Oh, he cant do rituals? I did not know that, and am not about to find that out for myself. Than what is the point of him being in Vortex-campaign? He can not do rituals, but can confederate others that do the rituals? The horned rat must be ecstatic with him

Because the Vortex map is still the base map of WH2 and therefore he must appear on that regardless of his objectives.

Yes, i figured that much. Sounds like another well thought out and balanced dlc release. Does he confederate much as ai faction too? that would be hilarious, preventing his people to win the race... wile gobbos are ganking chosen meanwile

He'd have to confederate all five of the other playable factions, or wait until they were destroyed, for that to be a problem for the High Elves. Tyrion alone usually makes it to the third ritual before he is confederated or destroyed (about a 50/50 chance each game) by Avelorn, who typically takes over the rest of the island (and gets to the final ritual) if Morathi does not conquer the place.

And if Morathi is doing that well, she's already taken out Alith Anar, whilst Imrik has been either been wiped out by the Tomb Kings or Clan Eshin, or has laid claim to most of the Southlands.

Worth pointing out that Malus, Snikch and Nakai ALSO don't partake in the Vortex race, which means they could theoretically confederate or survive the rest of their race into losing the race as well. Which makes it fair all around - every Vortex race has one faction which can make them abandon it outright.

People who can't take the slightest of pressure complained about the Vortex race so CA has since Hunter and the Beast been releasing more sandbox campaign style lords for the game 2 factions.

You know, I forget. Can Hellebron do the rituals as well, or is her focus exclusively on her Blood Voyages and becoming the most beautiful deranged murder queen of them all?

Queen and the Crone along with Prophet and the Warlock introduced lords who all take part in the Vortex race.

Thanks for that RCMidas, good info. So they can basicly slack off and let the others work, than go do the endfight to steal their hard earned credit. One of my work colleages will be nicknamed Eltharion from now on.

Each of those non participants is a dlc, nothing more to it. Thats why i did not know about this
