Dark elves don't have archers though, it's repeater crossbows they use.

In order. Wood Elf > High Elf > Dark Elf > New Skaven ratling guns and Snipers, yes yes. Then nothing is lower than a rat so I won't go on.
Dwarves have better missiles units than non skryre skavens easily though, and they would be better than DE if not for that shadowdart name of power. Their bugman rangers alone are a wonder. Shielded + vanguard + fast for dwarves + good range + stalk + immune to psychology + defense vs large + REGENERATION, you can't go wrong with that. I swear if we ever get a dwarf LL that buff them factionwide I'm doing a campaign with all my armies at least half made of just those from start to finish, they're just the ♥♥♥♥.

Don't forget that multiple master engineers in the same army stacks, making dwarfs the strongest missile faction by far IMO.

For pure bow archers, it's wood elves. Way watchers have good damage, armor piercing, 360° range, fire while moving, AND not horrible close combat stats. What more do you want?

How the fk does that make sense??? If you add another hero you lose some archers... an extra unit of archers is better than any tiny buff from a hero :/ we are by far the best ranged in the game. Second is de shades and shards are insane.

After that its he with magic bow girls.

Then empire and then dwarfs.

Although tk ushabti spam is very strong too and long range

We are talking campaign right? It´s not a tiny buff, it´s actually 20% extra damage AND ammo for the whole army passively. If you have just 6 ranged units and go down to 5 for an engineer, he will compensate both for the ammo and damage you lose from the unit, and then he will shoot a bit for himself aswell (reliably downing one or two armored elite infantry models per shot). To every ranged unit beyond the fifth he will add roughly 40% overall effectiveness, wich is HUGE.

Not counting his activated accuracy, damage and reload buff, passive buff to range OR the bonus to campaign movement range for the army. He is actually totally insane. :lunar2019coolpig:

Archers - Wood elves or high elves.

Ranged - Skaven with clan Skyre (if you have the DLC).
Drakulas Jan 4, 2020 @ 1:20am
High elf lord Alith Anar specializes in Archer units.

Archers? Elves.

#1 Woods elves.
High elves (long range) and Dark elves (more dps and armor piercing) both come close second.

Ranged/missile units?
Skaven (clan skryre to be precise), Dwarfs, Vampire coast. All got powerful artillery and good gunpowder-esque units to compliment.

Also there are certain lords that specializes in ranged. They buff archers/missile units.

Alith anar for HE. Huntsmasrshall for empire etc..

If you count any ranged units as archers I'd say skaven are the best.

Rattling gunners probally have the highest DPS, and skaven also have lots of AOE units.

uh no. Even if we count all ranged types, WE(Talsyn) in campaign are way above anything else as it stands, they can snipe heroes and lords 600 meters away (and that ♥♥♥♥ hurts like hell), many of their units have stack and they even have stalk+ snipe available as a normal unit, and their damage can be buffed to crazy level with the correct building built as those stacks.

There are many factions that have absolutely crazy good ranged potential in campaign, sure; but no other faction can delete an army by ranged fire as one-sidedly as Wood elves can. None.

I feel like we all hashed this out in another thread. I would say that either

1. Its wood elves because that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it

Or

2. CA did such a good job with balance the question has no definitive answer.

Elves obviously. But you cannot underestimate the value of Tomb Kings archers, esp early game.

The TK archers are good early game but I think the elves have better range. I TK archers do have a surprising amount of ammo but not as good range.

One high elf general and 19 shielded lothern sea guard sounds about right

They can shoot and fight and look cool at the same time!

Elf archers have 180 range plus they can stack a bunch of range damage increases and reload time reductions.

For campaign, Wood Elves, widely with the X camps stacking buff.
