Is there a way to turn auto-save off?

Do you mean incremental auto saves? I don't think you can disable the end turn auto save. Well, probably through modding.

Yeah, some people think it's the auto save feature that is causing these random crashes.

I haven't experienced any crashes. What mods are you using?

Uhm if you press "Save game" it shows a checked box which literally says "Allow incremental save blabla" or something like that ^^ I think that means the end turn saves. Is it confirmed that autosave messes the game up?

A ton; but I tried without any mods and had the same thing occur - as with others.

Not sure; it was speculated by a poster; and I am willing to try anything.

I'm going to try that in a new campaign too. Especially since it sometimes happens that if a new turn begins, the game just crashes after certain amounts of rounds. So some quicksaves every few turns shouldn't hurt that much. If I can complete a campaign without it crashing (and it kept crashing every time I've reloaded and the turn began again) I'll report back :D I don't think that I use any mods that conflict that hard with the latest update or with each other in general. (Most mods I use just add scripts, but don't alter tables)

No, it means you either have only one end turn and quick save or you have one for every turn and quick save you made.
I would advice against using it, otherwise you may end up with hundreds of saves cloging dozens of gigabytes for no reason

Wait, what would you advise against? Turning off auto-save? Or using quick saves?

Advise against using incremental saves. Game autosaves with or without this setting checked, off just means overwriting one file over and over again while having it on creates new save file every time you make a quick save or end turn.
Would make sense if game was prone to save corruption but since it's not the case it's just clogging up space. Also without it game gets a bit harder so that's also nice I guess

But people are saying that save corruption is the cause of this episode of crashes? I recall a few people fixed it by deleting their Warhammer2 folder in Appdata.

Do you know where the save files are located? I think I have over 1500 saves and it takes an eternity to load them ingame lol Also, good to know I can disable the clogging. I never needed more than one savegame ^^

They are in your %appdata%/roaming/the creative assembly/warhammer 2/ Save_games folder if using windows 10.

Thanks. Let's just say I have over 10gb of savegames... lol

Edit: Checked: 1200 savegames (almost 1300), 11gb ... :D

Don't you delete saved games in-game? That's insane.
