Does charge bonus apply when charging through friendly units?
Say I have a unit engaged with the enemy and I have another unit behind my engaged unit. Then I have my unengaged unit charge the enemy, which means they move through/into my engaged unit to get into combat. Does the charge bonus apply to that unit that just moved into combat, moving through my own unit?

Yes it does. However, high model count/low mass units like cav/infantry will tend to get blocked by their own troops and thus fewer models will get into contact before the charge bonus starts to decline. Throw a unit like chariots or monsters through your own troops and the difference in their damage will be nigh non-existent in comparison to an unobstructed charge.

Charge have 2 attack without waiting animation.
First on contact second after contact unit will attack again, so with your unit block it damage is quite noticeable. Also harder to back off if you want to cycles charge.
Your formation is another this to consider if you have thin line is find.
If your unit is an infentry(AP, poison, etheral) is better to charge behind they have low charge bonus , no need to back off ,small enough to get to the front.

The key to this is to leave a gap in your line occupied by a hero or lord. The enemy clumps on them and your unit charges that clump.
