Teclis has better spellcasting, but Morathi's an incredible combatant on top of being a powerful caster.
Best overall, well if you count Malekith as a mage its him. But that's because of his combat ability, he can just solo armies by himself with straight up melee. Similar story with Mazdamundi, he's really powerful with regeneration on a stegadon.
If we exclude monstrous mounts (including Malekith's chariot), where the power isn't really from the mage but just from monstrous mounts being powerful, I'd say its between Teclis, Morathi, and Fey. Morathi has good winds and good support abilities, and she's really tanky. Teclis has the best overall magic. Fey enchantress will get a ton of kills from mist of the lady and is quite tanky in campaign.
Allarielle is also pretty good, the combination of healing magic with the shield of saphery passive kind of makes your units just never die. Teclis has the mapwide healing, but he doesn't have earth blood which I think is better in campaign than regeneration (except for early on you usually don't have 1-2 key units like in MP, you just spam high tier units and earth blood has better overall healing).
In short, I'd just say Teclis because things get weird when you start including combat abilities like Morathi's.
Isabella offcourse.
Teclis lacks any reasonably offensive spells and is more of a support whereas Morathi's lores are just so-so to the point I prefer Malekith more.
But Vampire lore is just tasty in each and every regard.
An odd thing to say since I'm reasonably sure Morathi is one of the weakest combat LLs in the game. Teclis is too, but he's somewhat powerful in combat even before you get equipment that mitigates damage thanks to his heals and some of the effects of his spellcasting passives.
Agreed. Morathi is hardly a power-house or "an incredible combatant."
No need for some fancy light magic net.
But you know Gelt aint bad either, for most ppl hes hardly the best, but i tend to give him couple of extra points, just for style
But, its pretty damn easy to get all the stars to align. Like what "all the stars align" means is basically just for the enemies to be standing clumped up in a line. The ai lines up for you by default. They literally start the battle that way. and you can very easily get them to lump even more.
Read the OP. "in the campaign". Net is not the best spell in campaign. And winds of death is not even remotely hard to hit.
Chain lightning is the reason why teclis is better than vampire casters in campaign. Not net.
Malekith for best allrounder. He regularly kills half the enemies army on his own for me.
