Oh, unless you are playing Tomb Kings - they have the unique perk that their normal Lords are Immortal from the start as well. Otherwise, this is standard for every faction and every race across the board.
Characters only get wounded like legendary lords after you reach lvl 20 and take the immortality perk, until then if they get to 0 HP in battle they're dead permanently.
All LL's are immortal.
Only a few heroes start the game immortal. The rest need lvl20 for the skill
Before level 20 if they die in battle they are dead. If a hero with the assassinate skill gets a critical success on their hero action the hero will die. If any other hero does the wound action then the hero will respawn.
And on top of this, there are also some unique lords that are immortal by default, such as the Greenskin ones you get from tech, or Alastar the White Lion.
