Lothern Sea Guard or Sentinels of Astaril?
I'm having a hard time deciding between the two in my Eltharion army. Currently I have some rank 8 LSG in my army who have 75 MD (which is insane) and when I compare them to sentinels, the sentinels do less missile damage, only have 51 MD, and have a lower rate of fire. However, sentinels have 215 range vs 165, 80 armor vs 60, armor-piercing, and they are a mistwalker unit so they get buffs from Eltharion. On paper, LSG seem to be better aside from the lack of AP, but what do you guys think?

Both are good but Lothern Sea Guard benefit from tech upgrades as well as Lord traits & Skills while Eltharion's Mist Walkers require you to level Eltharion himself along with Athel Tamarha.

My go to is Eltharion leads Mistwalkers but other Lords lead regular troops.

The best answer for a flexible army is both.

Sentinels aren't a good comparison to the seaguards. I think spire guard are what they're called, they're the ones more of the seaguards tier

Range is good.

I ended up getting a mix of sentinels and spire guard.

The mistwalker umits are far better: longer range, armour piercing, expert charge defence and unbreakable.

Then interrogate a vampire and they become ethereal or a bretonnian and their phys resist goes through the roof.

Personally I liked the extra powder from Vampire Coast and whoever gave me frenzy. Made the shots I fired far deadlier and my melee much stronger. Thinking about the other buffs is neat. I'm curious what ends up being the strongest. Extra Powder is a nasty buff if you also consider the handmaiden effect that increases ranged power at long range. The long range first few volleys are crazy strong with that setup.

LSG only has higher missile attack value because of a much better fire rate. Sentinels are basically Rail Guns that attacks slowly, but has long range, high alpha damage and reduces shield effectiveness, meaning any follow up shots from other archers will be more effective.
