Alarielle's start.

The game says the start is "Very hard". There are very few of them very hard start. Skarsnik, is the only one I can think of.

To anyone having played Alarielle, was is that hard ? I imagine it's from the chaos influence at some points. The position on the map seems kinda easy to play with, be it Vortex or ME.

I got Queen and Crone. I'm wondering between the two new LL's.

Thorgrim is harder and it's labeled as easy for some reason.

Its probably due to her campaign mechanic. The more of Ulthuan that gets captured by non High Elves, the more it will mess you up.

Before (in Vortex) it was just Dark Elves controlling Avelorn, Nagarythe and some parts near Tyrion. Now (still in Vortex) you got to deal with Greenskins and Sartosa as well with Norscans not far away.

Don't gauge the difficulty notification to be correction. Game gives Morathi same difficulty as Malekith when he's way easier and not sandwiched between like 4 major factions that hate you. Alot of it is BS.

The big reason the difficulties aren't accurate is because they don't ever seem to update them when new content comes out. For example thorgrim is still "easy" even though greenskins have been buffed and his allies nerfed.

Well said. I don't think changing some letters should be that hard if you're creating-changing units.

I've found Alarielles start to be extremely easy. Even on Legendary difficulty there isn't much of a challenge. You are surrounded by friendlies which you can keep under control using Intrigue, push quickly toward the Gate and take it before it gets well defended, then wipe out the Dark Elves who have no backup. At that point you have no more enemies to harass you and have a super secure home base province. I sat back and confederated all of Ulthuan without killing a single other High Elf after that. Honestly the devs need to reevaluate their difficulty meters. Thorgrims start is a MILLION times harder than Alarielles, yet he is listed as "Very Easy" HAH!

I do feel I should mention that the difficulties listed are only supposed to refer to the difficulty at the start of a campaign. And by that measure thorgrim isn't that bad off, you do have the ability to secure the province you start in rather quickly, you have easy income with the mine several friendly factions nearby and only one direction you usually get attacked from. So technically yes an easy start. It's just everything after that point that isn't.

The campaign is hard until you capture the Dark Elf held gate. That is a hard battle early on for sure.

Once you get through that though it's not unduly difficult.

I just did Allarielle VH Vortex, was easy, but I didn't go for gate to the west, I went east first, and someone else knocked out the gate, so I went south and helped clean up the outer eastern side, then cleared out Norsca and DE's.

It was easy, but I fell behind hard on the Vortex progress for awhile.

It's a bit tough mostly because nothing near you makes a ton of money. Confederate the rest of the Helves, nab their ports, and then it's fairly smooth sailing - though the Norscans WILL annoy you

By that measure Alarielle should be listed as Very Easy then. She has everything you just described except doesn't have multiple full stacks breathing down her neck after securing her first province. Everyone knows the listed difficulty has NOTHING to do with the actual game challenge.
