Multiplayer Vanguard Question
What if in a match both sides brought vanguard units? Is it possible for both sides to deploy vanguard units in the exact same spot?

Yes, part of each sides vanguard zone overlaps with the enemies vanguard zone, which means you can even have units deployed behind enemy units when a match starts(especially on maps with a bigger vanguard zone. If youre going vs a faction that tends to vanguard, it makes super aggressive vanguards of your own a potentially atrocious choice if you arent confident inf your ability to win.

So that means if i have marauder horsemen in the small trees hiding and my enemy Vlad has 2 grave guards hiding there too, at start those units are going to be the first to engage? Okay that helps answer my doubts thnk you.

Yup. I've had matchups on occasion (one hilarious beastmen vs beastmen game comes to mind) where both I and my opponent planted some vanguard units in the exact same bit of forest on our mutual flank. Mine happened to be a little stronger and more numerous, so his lot routed right off the map and gave me just enough of an edge to pull through.

I got lucky when i was beastmen and the enemy was Empire i deployed my Gorheard with shields right ontop of his pistoliers and just watched as they decimated them xD the other guy called me a cheat and rage quit from the game which i found very very funny

Screw pistoliers and their pew pew guns. Always hated how the AI handles them. Funny thing is how the pistoliers even get there and stand next to the beastmen thinking "these guys are cool, right?"

this was MP against another human being lol AI pistoliers are easy to deal with but they are a good unit if you can kite them well they can do alot of damage to low armour troops

I thought they were thinking "Is that a giant beast I see right behind this tree? Nah, must be a branch or something. I'm happy here!"

I know. I just hate skirmisher cavalry in general. Abusive by AI, bad in my hands.

wasnt even right behind was literally on top so it would be more like

"Oh look at all these weird looking goats around us nothing abnormal here just some friendly goats with axes and shields defending the empire what good goats"

I find AI pistoliers to be a pushover if you're good at microing fell bats. A single unit of bats, well-microed, can drain the ammo from several pistoliers without taking any damage, then swoop in on the exhausted units and rout them really easily.

Harpies are somewhat less good at this, but still have an honourable mention.
