Never Ending Puppets of Chaos
Is this a bug? It seems like a bug.

So I thought I would give VC a go on ME, Luthor Harkon looked ok, I have never played them so I thought I will give them a try.

The units are fun, Luthor himself is pretty cool to play but the whole experience is totally ruined by constant PoC spam. They spawn and do nothing else but rush straight for my shoreline and burn all my coastal ports which are a massive money maker allowing me to support my armies.

I am on my fifth wave right now, mostly it has been 4-5 full stacks? This one is 6 full stacks. And they are not bad armies, they are all full stacks led by lvl 20 lords through to lvl 40 lords. I certainly cannot send my cheapo gunnery zombie army to deal with them.

I would like to you know, play the game? Buried treasures, infamy, looting and pillaging, sailing around looking for fell cargo, shipwrecks etc. Establishing Pirate Coves, all that fun piratey kind of stuff? Maybe that is too much to ask?

But nope constant full Chaos stacks spawning just off my shore and zerging my ports. I have to keep my main armies at home to deal with the constant spam or risk losing The Star Tower, Fuming Serpent, The Blood Swamps, Chupayotl, Mangrove Coast and Pox Marsh. They attack no other settlements other than mine. Like the whole rest of the map doesnt exist. I am on turn 175 now and the first trigger was around turn 120-130, ggs.

I just quit the campaign because it is more a chore/grind and id like to actually pirate, not just spend the whole game fighting off recurring Chaos stacks with almost the exact same unit composition.

Chaos keeps respawning until Archeon arrive.

Also 6 stacks is nothing.

This.

And they go for the player first, or anything in their way otherwise. I played a Eataine campaign, picked up Teclis and co, and that area got hit by the PoC again, and again, and again.....

It was very annoying.

They bypass me in my Lord Skrolk campaign. They just sail right on by, but they will attack any of my rats that are out boating.

I avoid the coast of lustria for this reason.

No.

The southern wave goes for Araby/Lustria. The northern wave goes for Naggarond more than Ulthuan these days and main wave goes for Kislev/Empire.

I had the same experience with my Skrolk campaign, i think they attacked one of my coastal cities but gave up the siege for some reason and sailed towards the Galleons Graveyard and until they were destroyed they avoided attacking my cities.

It was ME, Teclis holds the east Lustrian coast area. I was also holding out to Karand Kar in the north, and the northern wave went about half west to that area, and half south to Ulthuan.

Now, that campaign was started a few patches ago, so things may well have changed since.

Guys playing Skrolk.... how many of your cities can they actually see? :)

if possible leave a half damaged stack of the puppet for as long as possible as this will stop the next wave spawning

Check your chapter objectives. Chaos starts spawning on 4th chapter, and Archaon arrives on 5th chapter. If you want to speed up Archaon's coming, just occupy/sack 16 settlements, it usually does the job.

Generally when I've played Skaven and confedded Skrolk they tend to ignore my cities until Archeon shows up and even then they may not bother with them. Its primarily the starting cities of Teclis, Harkon and Fellheart that they focus on.

Probably don't know rats are lurking underground unless they send a hero to investigate first. So they sail right by the 'empty' ruins.

Whoah this works? Pretty amusing the community has also run into this problem and just thought up a work around lol. I just assumed if you leave them around they would sit and horde restock to full and attack your cities again. And it certainly would not stop another x amount of full stacks spawning.

The issue here is Lustrian jungles take forever to move through, even with Harkon's campaign movement bonuses, it is not like the open farmland of Brettonia. I am campaigning around Spektazuma, Wellspring of Eternity and Floating Pyramid area and have to move the main armies I have back from there. I only have enough to support two main armies, my third and fourth armies are very cheap zombie support armies. No where near good enough to fight 6 full Chaos stacks led by lvl 20-40 lords.

So whilst I would like to occupy 16 settlements I would be taking said above settlements but losing Blood Swamps, Pox Marsh, Fuming Serpent, The Star Tower, Chupayotl and Mangrove coast. And that is only the easily accessible cities on the coast. Chaos can easily land and push inland to Oyxl, Marks of the Old Ones, Xlanhuapec.

Unfortunately my starting province is Pox Marsh, The Awakening and The Blood Swamps, all on the Southern Lustrian Coast ;)

Every wave has come straight for me, none have gone to Araby I can see the coast of Araby via my alliance with Followers of Nagash.

They are boring. I have finished luthor game before my current norsca. I let blessed dread live, then laughed at them being terrorized by PoC. I did captured just awakening province, walled everything and kept there reasonable stack to build up its boat buildings and local treasure hunting. And they, it worked. Once they dared disembark, for their bad.

Too bad Vcoast wall towers are the worst in the game. Cant hit the broadside of a freight ship

Those walls were there just for the case the welcoming delegation were somewhere else.
