How are achievements meaningless? It's a way to show off your progress in the game to your friends or players online. If everyone can cheat it with mods then the game just becomes boring after a while with nothing to aim for. Also I don't like mods in general, I prefer using the base game rather than trusting a player for 'balancing' the game. I'm not saying you're wrong about the difficulty but mods ruin the game for me personally. Btw you didn't answer my question =P
I'm talking specifically about mods. Not other ways of cheating achievements.
Most games disable achievements with mods. Warhammer total war 2 is one of the few that allow achievements with mods.
However as Wulfrik mentioned you can use other methods to get every achievement even if they disable achievements with mods, so steam achievements are indeed kinda meaningless.
People buy games just to get achievements, so I guess manipulating human psychology to generate sales continues to demonstrate it's efficacy.....
Yeah it depends what method they used to achieve it I guess. Do you know if theres a way to find out if players have cheated using the game mods?
Not really. Achievements are just goals for some people so they can show other people that they completed the game on hard mode. Let's take World of Warcraft for example, if they didnt have achievements for showing what rank people got to in arena nobody would do it, it would become stale and boring after a while.
Yes really. Everything else you said is nothing but an extended rationalization.
How is it? I gave you a relevant example that you completely ignored because you know it's right. but if you're just going to reply with 'Yes really' then have a good day you're no help to me lol
Were you even a gamer before achievements were introduced?
Everything you said to support your position are things that existed before achievements.
I won't directly address points that people raise when they are being disingenuous or are otherwise misleading, as in general that would typically give oxygen to half-truths and outright fabrications.
Some things I hold to be self-evident.
Knew you wouldn't answer it xD
