It is brought up in a couple of Black Library books.

Being a homosexual (the term they use is Introvert) in the Empire is definitely something to be reviled according the Black Hearts trilogy while in the Nagash as well as Ulrika series, Lahmian Vampires who are dominantly (but not entirely) female and are generally ultra misandrists are open to that sort of thing. The followers of Slaanesh are generally implied to be okay with it.

Total War Warhammer implies the Dark Elves are also open to it.

One of the deities commonly worshipped by Dark Elves is Atharti, goddess of pleasure and seduction. They have festivals honoring her that are basically giant orgies. One would assume it's not an entirely heterosexual affair.

Yeh, but I don't think you can call what happens in Dark Elves "parties" romance, in fact, I doubt you can call anything going on with the Druchii as romance.

Considering how Warhammer was more about the table top game being sold to male teens originally, I can see how it might not have been very well considered. I mean there is a literal chaos god that deems pleasure as something that can go from okay and maybe love, to down right horrible and make you ask, "Why do their feet have tentacles?" because making sex a bad thing was apparently the right thing to do. Meanwhile Endtimes replaces pleasure chaos god with THE FREAKIN HORNED RAT. Kudos to him but wut.

No. The topic of 'romance' barely comes up outside of Alariel/Tyrion (whos kid is an end times plot point), Felix (who's a don juan bard stereotype), isabella/vlad (crazy), Morathi (crazier) - big melodramatic setpieces to set up war conflicts, like most lore plot points.

al_potenciano nailed any references i can think of (but they're pretty low key, and didn't feel like RL editorialising)

Crookback location is considerably older than Brokeback movie, so that can't be a reference.


Tilea is the only place i can recall being explicitly called 'socially progressive' without being EEEVIL nutjobs like DE/Slaaneshi.
