Dwarf Forge - Anyone notice they messed with it??
Well I started a Belegar Ironhammer Campaign this morning. Figured I'd start stacking some stats onto my four Ancestral Heroes.. Turns out them CA good for nothings went and fiddled with the FORGE mechanic again. It becomes patently obvious when you see the lists are now disordered as to cost. Then I started looking for stuff they'd fudged with..
Not sure one can call it a nerf but really from what I can tell I am gonna have a harder time gearing my heroes etc then before..
So something that is already borderline and which IMHO was in need of a boost is now..:steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty:

Looking at it right now.
All nicely lined up by cost. All looks like ever. Maybe belegar only?

I don't get your problem.

So, what exactly did those "good for nothings" change?
Darth Wadewilson Jun 11, 2020 @ 10:34am
What exactly do you mean by the changes OP??

They had nerfed some of the items. Especially ones that gives wardsaves etc. They also boosted some others.

So may be that affected the dawi forge items as well? Is that what you are referring to?

a nerf? it was borderline useless before why would they nerf it? its like fancy banners most of it
Nugcrusher Jun 11, 2020 @ 11:13am
Specifics? I just recently played as the Dwarfs, the White Dwarf, and I noticed no "nerfs" or other changes to the Forge mechanic.

It has some uses.
Some items are pretty decent or you could use it at the start to get quickly a few items.

I didn't notice any recent changes. I really like the regeneration items and being able to give heroes and lords an extra +20 or so melee attack and defense

yeah its mostly compared to the time involved its useless; again like banners and followers, some are useful and at least a few times pr game you should go through your characters but the impact on game pr minute spent in that stupid forge then equipping the items is just rewally poor except maybe some of the "unique" items

They changed the Magic resist items that one could craft. From what I can recollect playing a Dwarf campaign in early May, prior to the patch, I was able to stack Magic resist in increments as I got more oath gold and resources.. now not so much or rather I may have to figure something new..
There are also some new items or items that may have been merged/changed. Rangers Pouch for one.. Not sure that its actually a negative thing though, past that its Change and as a Dawi I dislike change ;)

Why would you build magic resist items and even wear them...... Dwarfs have innate 25% magic res, it should be enough for most situations.

Note to OP: these so-called "good for nothings" made a game for you to look in the Forge menu. It's good to be a bit more polite next time.

some items did get nerfed such as miners pickaxe (10 anti infantry to 5 anti infantry) and gate keepers ratcatcher (10 anti infantry to 5 anti infantry). i dont exactly remember the original values but for sure they got nerfed.

Anyone enjoyed enemy AI armies being able to pass Settlement exclusion zones btw?

I just got a reinforcing (march stance) army stormed by 3 Vampire armies.. Seems like the AI doesn't suffer from any turn based issues..
I chased off Mannfred who was laying siege to Mighdal Vongbalak, he disengaged and retreated back to his lands but then Vlad sent 3 partial armies straight past MV and swamped my March stance army as if Mannfred was still sieging said Hold. Nice things to see happening after pressing end turn. (fast)

Well maybe because I am as I stated in my original post playing a Belegar Ironhammer Campaign so I have 4 Spectral Ancestral Spirits(Hero units) The main thing they are vulnerable to is magic damage. Maybe you are unaware?

Oh sorry, I missed that part. But they're not that fragile that you need to put magic resist items on them. At least I don't. The AI rarely kills them via magic, even with 75% phy res they tend to die because they and the army they're in can't kill fast enough and simply got overrun.

Looks like there are possibly new items(I don't play Dwarfs often): Veteran's hammer, Ranger's Cloak, Ranger's pouch. And yes they are out of order in the forge list. They cost 30 oath gold but are listed after the 90 oath gold items.

There is also a series of 'Dragonslayer' items that look new? If those are new sounds like maybe a Slayer Dwarf DLC is in the future.

Not sure if any are nerfed, again I don't play a lot of Dwarf.
