Imo range if you nees something dead before it can fight back, else reload. You get a tech for more ammo (doom divers, not lobbers) so you likely will have too much anyway.
A rough estimate, but the 25% reload reduction will probably give them a 15-20% increased damage done per minute.
in all other situaltions i'd take reload. with proper skills and tech upgrades both doom divers and rock lobbers get a lot of ammo and reload skill will help you realise that damage potential (tho even with it you'll still have some spare ammo left at the end of the battle probably). in most cases range is irrelevant as long as it's more than 200 (to outrange enemy archers).
oh, and arrer boyz and spider archers says hello loosy coneheads, who's the bestest and the fastest sniper now, eh???
Range will give you what? One extra shot? Two if you're lucky? Id rather have them sending more shots over the course of the battle.
