Report a translation problem
I mean, I cannot imagine a regular group of 5 skirmishers taking that much ammo to route trolls, even more so if they had flaming ammo.
They are more of a dual-role fighter with the same melee stats as the regular spider rider, but without a shield and have armor piercing. Flanking & hunting down archer and such is their job.
With the upgrade they do pretty decent. (edit armor + speed; reload is pointless, when they hit rank 9 .. like a reduction of ~1 sec)
(still no counter to other cavalry ^^)
The unique shaman has even Goblintide, which boost them further ... they rack up some serious MA.
I just use them as semi melee cavalry and crush them into the backs - the additional arrow stuff is a neat side-effect, though.
It's the only army, where I use them .. else you are right; night-gobbo archer are insane fully buffed & fed.
Matter of taste, I guess :> I like 'em for that very one themed army
