Alith anar: Shadow-walker stack any good?
I wanted to play Nagarythe, and wanted to use Alith anar signature units as much as possible, which would make all battles a kiting hell, but i'm fine with it. Tho, how could an army like this take on walled cities?

Playing on Vh/h difficulty, have a nice weekend and thanks :D

It does quite well if memory serves me right, mind you without any melee units to back them up it'll be a slog. The shadow-walkers are alright in melee not the best though so they'll lose to dedicated melee units on average and they do poison (I think) so I guess you could sent up with them but they'll take a lot of damage. After you've taken the walls just line everyone up and it's a turkey shoot.
If you get at least a bit of a frontline a Shadow-walker core army will ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slap. Their stalk ability will help you a lot in sieges, your regular units will attack the centre of the castle, the enemy will focus their units there, you sneak the shadow-walkers onto the walls at the flanks and shoot everyone to death. Extremely potent.

It's one of those stack that are gabade for siege but good in open field.

Guess you have to bring some phoenixs, or at least some tanks.

Shadow Walkers and Warriors are great for sieges. I tend to use mixed armies composed of Lothern Sea Guard, Eagle Claws and then the Shadow units. Put the non stealth units on one side of the siege map, this way the AI will concentrate their forces on that spot while your stealth troops are on another side.

You can sneak them over the walls without interruption

They work well in the early game, but start falling off when more armor shows up. Their missile damage vs. armor is terrible.

a whole stack? No.

Tend to have a few of them like 3 or 4 but past that not much point.
I use them for flanking moves in a lot of regular fights as well as kiting other units away from the main battle.

In siege they can get up an unoccupied wall section and then present a threat from the walls themselves with their constant barrage of arrows. Also useful for taking the objective or harrassing a specific unit in a keep.

they are quite a micro-intensive unit, so only one in mid to late game when you have much more options.
