Scrap armor or Spiky weapons?
Which way, warhammer man? do you want your goblins as hard to almost kill as a big 'un or do you want them to do 11 points of AP damage? I prefer them beefier , more resistant to missiles and the like, since their role is to lockdown and halt an attack than to win the day ( god forbid if you're stuck to that)

11 Ap is way superior if we talking about Grom. They will have all the survivability they need form food and lord buffs, but the lack damage.

Scrap armour all the way, gobbos become so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard to kill with that upgrade + red line buffs + lord specific skills.

your army damage should be coming from aux units like trolls, squigs and pumpwagons.

I don't ahev the Grom dlc, and in case you forgot, there's 4 other green boyz that can be used. Wuzrag for example.

Mate with the scrap update, and the better gobbos skill or however that's called the gobbos in your armies have over 70 armor. they hold the line super well. And they are expendable and you can recruit them everywhere.

Scrap thing was probably the best thing this game got since the dwarven forge.

Beginning of the game, I prefer the AP. They need to deal damage.

Late game, they shouldn’t really be in your armies unless your Grom, I just need them to hold and would get armor.

+1 to armour. They are great at holding the lines for their price after all the buffs and upgrades. Even with the damage upgrade they wouldn't be able to replace damage dealers though. Good early-mid game to have them take the brunt impact of enemies, and then have the trolls charge in mixed with the gobbos.

Take the armor upgrade, they become a tough, standard infantry unit: hold the line and don't falter.

Seems an obvious choice to go armor. You don't need front line troops doing damage, you need them holding the line while your damage dealers work.

This becomes more true on higher difficulties where melee in general is a bad idea as far as DPS is concerned and your DPS primarily has to come from ranged units if you don't want to have a bad time.
