Is Bonus vs. Large damage also Armour Piercing?
If I have a heavy cavalry target, do I want "bonus vs. Large" or "Armour Piercing"?

Bonus vs large works the same way as charge bonus does. The value gets transferred into your melee attack and your base damage + ap damage depending on the ratio between them.

Bonus vs large is not armour piercing, I believe that bonus vs large tends to be bigger than armour piercing bonuses so you would want bonus vs large, preferably both. Also BvL units seem to do better in combat vs large units than AP units

Same ratio as the main damage part. So if it's like 33% AP 67% normal damage then 33% of the bonus vs large/infantry will be AP and 67% will not be.

And so on.

Please, that's not how it works.

Is that the final say then? The bonus is absorbed into the base and then divided along the original percentage?

Original percentage.

So if a unit has 20 regular damage and 10AP and a bonus vs large/infantry of 9, 6 of it would be regular, 3 would be AP.

I think the Anti-Large Bonus is just a plain bonus to damage but the armor stat of the large thing can still mitigate the damage.

But the the damage bonus is noticeable though. I have had High Elf Spearmen fend of Chaos Knights and seen High Elf Rangers (who have Anti-Infantry) go toe to toe with Chaos Warriors and handle themselves well.

Awesome. I was under the impression bonuses vs infantry/large were normal damage with zero AP. Glad to have found otherwise, that'll change a few of my impressions on which units are good/bad. No wonder AP spear/halberd units felt so much stronger than I figured they would be.

I think Armour Piercing is just a different damage bonus

non-ap can have a % of its damage blocked "ranging from 0% to 99% based on both a dice roll and the amount of armour the unit has" while AP damage always ignores this dice roll and always hits with its AP damage

only thing that can block AP damage are resistances

Not exactly on topic, but about people wondering why Bonus vs. Large units and Bonus vs. Infantry units do well vs. even armored targets, it's because the bonus applies to their melee attack. If you already know that, just think about it as being a consistency thing. Consistent DPS > Burst Damage in prolonged engagements, which is usually what infantry fights are.
