New update won't download

I was able to install this update up until 105.6 Mb and then it stopped and continues to eat up massive amounts of disk space but downloading at 0 bytes. I tested it on other games and updates and those all work fine except this one.

Seems like either reinstalling the game or clearing the download cache works

Exact same problem for me. I've tried clearing the download cache and deleting the package folder, but nothing worked.

I'm going to reinstall.

Just let it run. The Steam client isn't super clear about it, but it's basically just installing the game. As long as there's either network og disk acitivity the update is being processed. Different games use different install methods. That's why you're seeing a difference.

So weird - this sort of worked, the network activity looks like: | | | | in spikes, it downloaded to 108.6 and has now stopped again... What gives warhammer team, they shouldn't be pushing updates that are broken like this..... and no dev responses?

If it is using Disk Usage in the Steam downloads section it means that it's playing around with the files. It even has a bar under the games name showing how far it's currently at, if you're using a regular Hard Drive it takes a lot longer to copy and/or change files. If you use an SSD the whole process is way quicker.

Unhelpful - And it's unlikely to be this, given it is using 20mb/s+ of disk usage for a 118mb update for many 10s of minutes.

As in above pot clearing cache and restarting downloaded a few extra files. so weird.

That's because the way Steam does game downloads is that it copies the game files before starting the download so if the download gets corrupted or something you don't have to reinstall the whole game. If you are using a regular Hard Drive but have a fast internet you'd likely be better off uninstalling the game and then re-installing it whenever a patch comes out.

I think it was just the new black orc hero, i know for certain they didn't fix the winds of magic gamble mechanic at the very least.
