Tyrion wont Confederate as Eltharion
In my latest campaign as Eltharion Tyrion (Eataine) just wont Confederate with me. I am late game (Turn 223) and am Strength rank 1 but Tyrion still is red in Confederation.

I have 400 plus relations with him and am a Military Ally even tho I rarely accept those. He is fairly powerful himself but the thing is throughout the entire play through not once was he even willing to Confederate. The likeliness never even increased to moderate (yellow) but remained red. Although I did manage to Confederate Alarielle and Cothique Tyrion took the rest of Ulthuan and confederated teclis.

By now I am mopping up Queek in the Badlands and the Vlad in Sylvania and am thinking of declaring war on Tyrion next as he remains pretty much the only other major power. Ik for the most part Eataine is a faction that dominates most campaigns but come on wtf am I supposed to do?

Am playing on V Hard if it matters. Is this issue mainly due to the power shifts caused by the DLC (in my campaign the Greenskins stomped Thorgrim and only Clan Angrund remains as the major dawi power. The Vampire counts also managed to take Altdorf under Vlad. Also many minor factions survived.) Is this challenging to anyone else?

Remove miltiary ally that's a huge mistake.

If he's not in any danger why would he join you

Declare war on others, then cancel ally and confederate him same turn before the negative from cancel takes effect.

Is this a trick? I'm having similar issues, 150 relations with tyrion, military alliance, he never wants to confederate, nobody does in fact

if they don't feel cornered they have no reason to join you. It's logical. Does Mexico suddenly ask to be confederated with the US just because US are strength 1 right now?

Alariele did, no wars, no nothing, 80 relations, just paid me to confederate rather early in the game for no reason

What was her strength relation to yours? As in, how much stronger were you compared to her?
If Tyrion is part of the top 10, with a strength close to yours, 1-2 bad fights could shift that powerbalance in his favour, making him the stronger one.
On the other hand, if the same happens to Tyrion(he loses a series of figths, putting his strength in relation to yours way lower), he might want to confederate.

As such, try to have him engage in as many wars as possible. Make him overextend and exhaust his armies. Give him targets that are far away from his territory so that he cant quickly reinforce or hold any conquerered territory.
However, if you mess up and he actually succeeds, he only gets stronger.

Alternatively, just enjoy the fact that you have a strong ally to trade with and who deals with any annoying threats so that you dont have to send out armies for that.

Try offering different amounts of money and see how much he wants

You can usually buy him out for 50-80k

the same problem here.....turn 120 and nothing.... he want to become vassal , but not to confederate

same thing but I dont mind him being on his own

No need to buy really..
Thise are the factors for confederation.
- Race.. Some races confed easier then others.
- Strength.. your strength compared to the other one, this higher you are the lower they are the better.
- Your Realiability. The higher the better.
- Relation to the other faction.
- And most importently what is the situation when you try..
Meaning you have have one that are red one turn and then Green and would pay you to confedc next turn because they just had a wipeout.

Have not tried this after patch, but before patch you could ally with them, build up relation with them, when you then are in war with servel others, then ask them to attack something and when they do, and wipeout, you cancel your ally and confed them same round, because then they suddently stand with no army, in war with 3-4 other that are stronger.. Not only will they confed, they pay you alot to do it.
But you have to do it same round, before your relation starts to drop from the cancel.

Alarielle was about half and half, tyrion I've been waiting for over 30 turns now, he went from 20% of my power to like 150% and black to half half, always red on the chances

Try not being his ally anymore and seeing if that makes him confed with you. I had a run going as the dwarves and the karak zorn would not confed with me at all and we were military ally's. Once I broke the military ally thing his confed color went from red to green instantly.
