Their entire mechanic is based on expanding to get better shipments from home which pisses off all local factions. This means you're constantly starting wars. The key is to expand enough into one enemy's territory, win a key victory against their main army, the sue for peace that turn.

This let's your main army turn back and head in the direction of another enemy, where you can repeat the process until you're down to one enemy. Wipe that single enemy out and wait for a new declaration of war from another neighbour.

I ignored Blue Vipers and all is good on VH/VH. I'm on turn 66 now and ready to take third province and wipe out Luthron.

Also, Nakai got destroyed turn 7. I don't know how. Haha.

That or try to be at agression 3-4 all the time, wait then for reinforcement and build economy while not going further and when everything finished and you have as much military as possible, hit after reinforcement just came in the enemy base for another shipment, try to get as many villages as possible while fending with reinforcement off their spawned units when agression reset try to sue peace for building up economy again. But yeah Huntsmarshall/Nakai campaign is intentionally made so, that you think it is impossible to win.

The AI literally cannot play hordes properly. The kind of choice and gambit necessary + the fact that he cannot save his units by playing out the battles and have to suffer auto reseolve losses every time makes for an impossible task to survive. That's why most horde faction are the only factions that will automatically respawn after a while, CA knows very well that the hordes won't last long.

So this is the reason gameplay feels so hard with him and that he is the only commander, where I got losses boni stage 3. I thought the correct gameplay for start is, recruit as many Saurus warriors as possible before the upkeep hit very hard. With the deep red upkeepnumber go to the next enemy village. Retreat back into mainland after winning 50%+ lost units.
Repeat from Step one again.

Get the heroes ASAP. Use other heroes to scout, you need lots of scouts for his campaign. Always have one army guarding your main province. Make sure you choose your troop shipments wisely.

Just leave lustria first thing and head to ulthuan and start taking land. much easier to defend, and lots of money and unique buildings plus the empire does well against the high elves. I wouldnt even bother keeping your capital.

Like with a lot of advice I give, focus on fighting defensively. Take the time to build up your towns so you can wall them up. This way, you can attack the enemy while not having to worry too much about them sacking, razing or occupying your settlements.

Yeah if you go to war with the orcs on legendary youre dead... they send 4 stacks to your capital its impossible to hold so early on.

Best tactic is to push east and collect your super heroes and mass infantry. Always pick the infantry unit deployment. The war wagons are terrible... need a huge buff! More expensive than an outrider and do way less damage and cant kite anything

I just recently completed a MW campaign on ME on very hard after watching Legend of Total War play is campaign and I followed his example and made a B-line straight for the Sentinels of Xeti. I recruited along the way but did NOT hold the start position. I started very slowly until I was able to have a properly defendable cities etc. Key is don't move too fast.

yes but what about the legendary heroes? You would still have to go into Lustria and this time blind folded

Ignore the Blue Vipers as much as possible. Savage Orcs have tons of resist against ranged damage so you'd get screwed.

What I did was take out the first vampire faction along the cost while getting all the heroes (send the first hero you get the trek all across Lustria to get all the heroes ASAP, by turn 10 or 15 at the latest you should have them all) and then from there start expanding south little by little taking out the lizardmen and the other vampire factions. Also helps to get as many trade agreedments with the High Elves as possible.
