Bought the game, now can't see old save game

So I used to play the game using my brother's copy through family share. This week I bought the game for myself to take advantage of the sale and suddenly the "load campaign" button is grayed out and I can't load any of my saves!

I bought one dlc my brother did not have. Does buying DLC make your save games unusable?

Certainly did not buy the game just so I could STOP playing.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: Things I have tried so far:
- Bought / downloaded all DLCs which he has, including one extra one he doesn't.
- Checked to see if my saves are still in the save folder.
- Obviously closed / reopened steam and the game.

EDIT2: Missing DLC "Krell" but don't know how to get it.

Try activating the free DLCs.

Which means going to every individual page of each free dlc on steam and clicking the download button while the game's running(since the download button always starts up the game when clicked... at least in my case).

Then restart the game.

You can try with the game open, personally I let it open the launcher and open the game every time. But I didn't have to do 10 in a row.

What didn't? Having trouble activating or you activated all but the saves aren't there?

Forgive me for not clarifying. I activated all DLCs on the game's steam store page but I still can't see my old saves.

I should mention that while me and my brother both have all free DLCs, I didn't buy and don't own Shadow & Blade and he hadn't bought and didn't own (still doesn't) the Vampire Coast DLC. Could that be causing my saves to be unplayable? Does buying DLC ruin old save games?

Are you sure they're all activated? Can you start a campaign with any of the free DLC factions?
Having extra DLC shouldn't matter, NOT having the DLC MIGHT be causing issues. You weren't playing as any of the DLC factions were you?

How can I make sure they're all activated? When we click on Downloadable Content button ingame it shows the same things for both me and my brother except for the Shadow & Blade which I do not have and the Vampire DLC which he does not have.

Yes, I can start a campaign with those.

Did you use any of the DLC units for Skaven? It's possible that that's the issue, no?

Making sure the free dlcs are activated is the simple task of going into the void campaign menu screen and seeing which Free DLC races still have the unclaimed... insignia(red ribbon).

I'm okay with doing that if I have to. I just don't want to buy it and then realize that's not the problem and I still can't play.

All paid DLC adds units to their respective races. I'm not sure if it'll fix it because nothing stops from accessing those units by confederating another faction that has them in their armies.

I may have found the reason for the issue. It seems I cannot play with characters that belong to DLCs from the TW: Warhammer 1 game, like the Fay Enchantress, which my brother also has.

I will try downloading and installing TW:Warhammer 1 through family share and then adding those DLCs and tell you if that works!
