Warhammer 2 will not open after launching from launcher
So I had this issue when the game first launched and it was fixed by a game update a week later. Yesterday it reappeared out of the blue and I cant seem to get it fixed.

Here is what is what I am doing:
  • Launch game from steam

  • select Warhammer 2 from list of total war games in launcher
  • hit play

  • get windows loading curser

  • nothing happens

  • wait 5 min

  • kill the game with task manager

Note: all my other total war games work fine just having issues with Warhammer 2

So here is what I have tried:
  • Run Steam as an Administrator

  • Re-downloaded the game

  • removed all mods - had none installed in the first place but checked anyway

  • Checked game files

  • Added a firewall exclusion.

Please let me know if I am missing something I am very close to just uninstalling and giving up.

EDIT after fix: I got it to work with a VPN but its a temp fix. I ended up talking to my ISP and they needed to fix some stuff on their end for it to work the way it should have in the first place.

Sharing for solution, it's some sort of network issue. The game has to connect to something after being launched and your network configuration can prevent that from happening which stops the game from fully launching.

My personal solution:
1. Unplug Ethernet Cable
2. Restart PC
3. Connect to Wifi
4. Launch game

This worked instantly after not working last night whatsoever (was broken for WH1, WH2, and 3K)

So if nothing else worked and you game doesn't launch try changing your network configuration.

Have you tried launching Warhammer.exe directly?

Have you been playing it before just fine?

I have played off and on since launch with no issues till yesterday. Yes I have tried using the .exe and it will just pull up the launcher for me and create the same issue

I will give that a try later today
Did everything up to resetting windows, no fix here. Same problem with Total War: Three Kingdoms, an update must have broken something.
