Question About Corpse Carts
I've been slowly buying all the DLCs that I don't yet own, and recently I got the DLC featuring Helman Ghorst, which adds several units for the Vampire Counts including the Corpse Cart.

The thing is that I'm not sure what these things do. The abilities of the basic Corpse Cart say that it regenerates, but I haven't seen it do this. I had it sitting right next to my wounded undead units and nothing was happening. I can't see any way to use its abilities or anything.

Thanks for the answer.

The basic corpse cart doesn't have regeneration does it? I thought that was only the unholy lodestone.

The basic corpse cart should have a bonus that gives +5 ma/md to nearby units.

I think it has regeneration itself, so you should see the corpse cart healing. But it won't heal nearby units without the unholy lodestone.

Yeah, I think Caco's answer is more accurate. One gives a fire aura, one a healing aura, and they all give the bonus to MA and MD, with the basic cart only buffing MA and MD

Howcome the corpse cart doesn't have an aura around it indicating the range of whatever benefit it's bestowing? Unless it's the entire map.

Only unholy loadstone cart gives regen aura.

But then again, Mortis Engine does that too, and it also does degen aura on the enemies when you are in battle with it, so Mortis is actually better in the endgame.

It does show the aura, when you mouse over the passive ability on unit card

I thought that having one in the vicinity helped stopped units crumbling? Like a leader?

Howcome it doesn't do that when you have it selected as it is for lords and heroes?

yea, it would be better if it would, but once you get familiar, 30m and 40m radiuses become intuitive pretty much.

Lords and heroes have a leadership aura, but the corpse cart aura is technically a passive ability. If every passive ability always showed you'd have a ton of rings and no idea what's what, while leadership auras are the blue circles.

Corpse Carts are useless. They are slow, they are vulnerable and they don't give you anything important to begin with. There are three variants:

Basic: You are meant to use it more as a +MA / +MD buffer, it's useless otherwise.

Balefire: It screws over enemy casters, but good luck getting a CC so close to enemy casters. Again, mostly useless.

Lodestone: This one gives Healing Aura. And it's actually somewhat useful. But! Maybe in Multiplayer it even is, but in Campaign...it is TIER FOUR! At that point you can just purchase a flatout better unit(Mortis Engine).

(they all heal themselves via Regeneration perk)

You also have Brothers Ghorst CC, which gives Helman a CC, but I don't really recommend it because it'll just turn him into a sitting duck. But can be nice for +MA / +MD coupled with Regen Aura and other Leader buffs. I guess.

As I said, CCs are nigh useless.
