Skaven and Chaos invasion.

I've been totally blind sided by the Chaos invasion as i was counting on Clan Moulder do be a buffer between Myself and them. But They've totally ignored them and flooded my lands.
Is this a bug? or an intended game mechanic.

If it is in Vortex and you have done a Ritual, yes it is normal, they spawn for you to interupt the ritual

First chaos wave isnt at war with skaven. Only after Archeon shows up

Lore wise I'm fairly certain that Skaven per se isn't allied with Chaos, but their goals are somewhat alligned, so even though they probably won't see each others as allies, they both definitely have better targets as their primary enemies largely are shared..

In the end times skaven plays just a big a role as chaos in the destruction of the world, so it might be intentional. Not sure though.
Can't really recall seeing them fight in my previous campaigns, when I try to think back.

First chaos Invasion, Mortal empires campaign.
I thought that perhaps because the AI was seeing the Cities as ruins they were just ignoring them. But i can confirm now that they are in fact not at war with each other.

Yeah many evil factions like skavens only become at war with WoC once Archaon spawns, whic means they usually profit from the ruins left by WoC to enlarge their empire.
