Why is my PC fan so LOUD on campaign map?
I have RTX 2070 super and i7-9700 playing on 2560x1080 with high details and my fan is incredibly loud (= going super fast) when I'm on the campaign map. It's much more silent during battles. A lot of heat is going out of my pc and the temp is on normal gaming speed. I can run Far Cry 5 and similar games and my fan is silent. I had similar problem with Rome 2.

Is it normal for you? Is there any setting that I should turn off/on to make my fan more silent? I wanna keep the battles good looking, I need to make changes on the world map. Thx.

What fan is it?

Whichever it is it just means it's using that item more. I'm guessing it's possibly the GPU? Although tbh my 2070 super doesn't spin up much at all. I've got a windforce model if that changes anything and my ryzen 9 3900x is watercooled and I've not seen much of a change with that.

I wouldn't worry about it really unless the noise is annoying you, in which case use a headset?

Its cuz the campaign map is tougher on hardware than battle map.

Every lord, hero, army, settlement and gfx on campaign map are always loaded, regardless if you have vision on it or not.

The game is just hefty, so more workload is added to your processor and gpu. So they produce more heat which, in turn, causes the fans to spin more.

I ld guess its the casing fans - the game is rather cpu heavy and depending on ur bios settings when the core reaches something like 50-55 degrees celsius the fans usually start blowing harder

at least thats what is the culprit in my system

you could try playing around with the fan settings in bios ..
