Can't download free lords/content?

Any time I go to the store page for the free lords/content and hit "download" it just launches the game, and when I load in the free lords are still locked and say I have to download them.

What gives? How the heck are you supposed to get the free stuff if it won't download?

I get them after I click on them and started game.

Always worked for me if I open the game after it opens the launcher.

Yes. You hit download, it launches the launcher, you close the launcher, then repeat for each FLC.
You might need to restart steam for it to take effect. Check your games download section to make sure the DLC is registered there, and that it is selected as active.
If that's not working, there might be some sort of temporary problem, and you should check back later.
