Malus Darkblade in ME. Good players give me tips on..
I play on very hard and I DO NOT want to dismiss Malus and hire him back in Hag Graef. So, my problems are

1) Chaos corruption from Morathi, I guess. It's making me put down rebellions with my piss poor army cause I lack finances for bigger one. As a result, I am forced to manually fight each boring rebellion.

2) Is it worth the effort capturing settlements to the north of Dragon Isles? I was planning to just sack and raze until orcs and rats are gone.

3) After I am done with orcs and rats, is it sensible to move further north against Dwarfs or is it better to focus somewhere else closer to the sea, where I can rely on Black Arc to hire units?

Not played him much, but concerning Dwarfs, look up stuff around the "Order Tide" or "Blue Tide", I generally where possible try to get rid of them early on regardless of who I play as. (where practical and possible)

pfff basically lost campaign, cause stupid Malekith went to war with everything he saw and lost by turn 20-22.

Well I also played him on VH one time

I did took the money and stay at the island, the problem is I didnt know the map so i tried to take the north.
But all region was orange climat, so it was hard and slow coz of public order, not enough growth / money

Next time ill propably go south , since the town are green, but I guess lizardmen are harder to fight than skavens and orks

If you go against the dwarfs you want to get a lot of dark shards or shades, since they get armor piercing missiles to kill the front lines. The Black Ark that spawns in the Dragon Isles is only able to reach the lowest parts of Karak Azul, so capturing a capital near there may be beneficial if you don't want to fall back to the coast so you can recruit once units are lost.

nevermind, guyd.. Tried 3 times to figure things out and then gave up and watched people's stream on legendary. It's not the same as very hard, of course, but they all say it's not worth the trouble to keep both places due to extra upkeep you receive on the harder difficulties.

You may also want to wait for another week until the next patch drops. That'll make his Mortal Empires start a little more bearable, since it adds in a new port settlement north of the Dragon Isles and (I think) makes the Serpent Coast to the south a port as well. That'll make him able to trade with the Deathmaster if you beat up on the local Greenskins enough, or make it simpler to beat into Kroq-gar's territory so as to reach Queek beyond.

♥♥♥♥ this idiotic map!
Tried to keep both settlements in the new and old world; tried to sell Graef and Focus right side, but the map on the west is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥:
a) freaking rats can move freely and outmanoeuvre you easily, whist it takes you forever to move from one side of the map to another.
b) by the time, I am finished making sure that dragon isle is all set, rats or orcs win fully and then if I attack right side, they come from the left and if I attack left, they attack from the right. ALWAYS aiming for my base, where I don't have enough gold to hold 2nd army.
c) can't fight them directly, cause they avoid fighting at all costs and just around with their stacks trying to snipe my base. So, all what happens is:
I capture their settlement => gets rebellion-razed => I move to another to wipe out rats => they came out of nowhere, resettle and create another stack => I am back square zero. They truly are a vermin lol

This campaign on ME pisses me off so much, but I can't stop playing it, cause it's one of the few maps that has challenging start, where you don't know what to do.

Malekith do be kinda stupidly warlike, for one lacking so much skill at capturing territory.

I've been wondering about Mortal Empires campaign as well with Malus Darkblade,

Now I've done it with doing the actual deal got about 7 of the 10 provinces you need for access to the potions without cost. Pretty darn tough because the cost keeps going up. Also just finished a Malus Vortex campaign which was challenging sorta, but compared to ME nah.

Here is a video I found of a guy that managed to keep the home territory.

nevermind, boys, I figured it out.
1) Make friends on the West-side with everyone who you can, before Malekith drags into his wars.
2) Keep Malus in Dragon Isles to defend and to farm rats/orcs. Do not expand.
3) Caputre the province on the west. Start from turn 2, since Malekith will try to get it before you.
4) Focus on expanding on the West with your lord. Don't go into wars with Crone and do not break alliance with Malekith.

Agreed, focus on one front. Either "disband" his army and play like any other DE in Naggaroth or sell the Hag (how unloreful) and establish a foothold in the south eastern map.

That place btw is quite good to be defended once you took over some settlements

nah, i managed to keep both sides. actually that way it was a lot more fun, cause rats didn't let me rest for more than two turns giving me free gold.

I just keep the city for the reason alone that I can trade and not have to spend ages getting to a port city for the sole reason of trading. Yeah his campaign isn't that great honestly and his mechanic isn't that fun or worth it personally.
