Lord Death on Legendary difficulty

Is it normal if your legendary Lord is counted as killed in action when you lose him in a battle in legendary difficulty? From my experience the legendary part about legendary lords was that they can only get wounded, not killed, which was the case whenever I took down a enemy's lord. My lord does not show up in the recruitment tab, not even with the "wait X turns to recovery" message.

I run a vanilla game, just in case that is important.

I was playing Chaos, used Archaon. He died in battle because I didn't see a non-general Karl Franz charging in. Now he is dead. I was wondering whether or not it's normal for Legendary Lords to die like that, instead of simply getting wounded.

It also cancelled his character specific quest for the Slayer of Kings. It was noted as "completed" even though I was nowhere near Baersonling's Camp

Shouldn't do. Never had one of my LLs offed permanently. Is he not at the bottom of the lord pool, greyed out?

I just noticed that instead of Archaon, I have gained a different Lord without a trait, which I do not remember recruiting. He is a Chaos Sorcerer Lord (Fire).

Did my Archaon get replaced by a Sorcerer?

No, he is not. I checked repeatedly. Only Siggy and Kholek are shown there.

When a lord dies or is wounded you have to replace him with another.
Try opening that lord window and check the replace button.

As I said, I did. He does not appear there. Instead I have the common selection of lords, Siggy and Kholek, aswell as a traitless Fire Sorcerer from god knows where.

The bit about the vanilla game is extremely important. Did you previously run any mods that may not have been properly unloaded?

I am pretty sure I have uninstalled and unsubscribed all the mods and workshop items I had.

Also, another thing I have noticed. Archaon was carrying around a few companions, I think. Though I am sure he had a Magical Scroll equipped, which did not get reported as lost, unlike his potion of speed. However, said companions and said scroll is gone too.

Well, I am just going to assume that Archaon decided to retire from that whole End Times hijinks and sent me a Fire Sorcerer to pay his bills.

No, since archaon died in battle anyway.
I know it's lore friendly to attribute all unnexplicable deaths to him, but this times he's innocent.

So that's a bug, and the traitless lord gives it out. it's probably Archaon himself who bugged out and got replaced by default parameter for the various things.
