Massing non AP archers is not going to do a lot when half of the enemy either have shields or 100-150 armour.
What kind of troops do you have access to? Everything? Because if everything then Phoenix guards will eat most dinos easily as long as you protect their flank.
don't countercharge and don't use swordmasters against a dino stack though.
Sisters of avelorn will do very well against dino but again, don't take so many that you can't protect them against fast opponent. If you have normal archers they should mostly focus on whatever has no shield and the less armour to reduce the amount of enemy unit roaming around asap.
Net of Amyntok can be a life saver against flanking fast dinos, so having a lore of light caster is a pretty nice addition.
Dragons obviously do well but I'm not a huge fan of those, they're not necessary tbh. Then again when owning Caledor they're super cheap with the right 60 influence trait for the lord, so your take. Still don't like unmounted dragons for HE, this doesn't feel very HE-like.
BTW for saurus if you fight in the forest, WL crush every saurus infantry easily for the same cost as the saurus uni (they still lose to temple guards except if buffed by the red line though, but TG cost way more than WL), so pretty nice trade when fighting lizardmen infantry.
Also, there's a lot of forest in Lustria maps so if you fight on their turf, that's another reason to NOT mass ranged.
SW: I'd guess either Swordmaster of Hoeth or Shadow Warriors.
PG: Phoenix Guard
TG: Temple Guard
SW are probably Shadow warriors as the user said "have to protect SW" and swordmasters are the ones protecting, not the ones needing protection.
Swordsmasters and White Lions... As much as I like them and try to make them work, they are not very cost effective... White Lions are actually pretty good for their tier, but the lack of specialization hurts them and also the fact that high elves do not really need them. Swordsmasters are good at killing infantry. But so are all your ranged units and you can buy 3 squads of archers for thet cost of one squad of Swordsmasters.
Sisters of Averlorn will crush just about anything at the same price range, but I find them to be so incredibly boring that I usually dont recruit them.
Elven artillery is only goodish with the anti infantry ammo. The anti large ammo that they get as default is not even good vs large enemies. You can take one or two in an army. It is fine.
Well you are not gonna win with a standard fire mage, spears and archers with 3 eagles normal army....
lord (fire) + mage (light) + master of hoeth (For healing) + 2 handmaidens (to boost your archers and get ranged support heroes) + 6 phoenix guard (the staunchest line of spears) + 6 sisters of avelorn (the pay to win unit) + 3 Arcane phoenixes (the bestest bird) solves all dinosaur problems.
Well, most of them...
How do you get Sisters of Avelorn, for example?
I am fighting with Swordmasters of Hoeth, Lothern Sea Guard Shields, and White lions of Chrace + 3 dragons. That is about highest teir possible according to my tech tree, but I am being decimated no matter how big my army.
I can fight and win just about any other race. Just not Hetoxl, their bull units just run right through me, and then everyone runs screaming.
Just lost a battle against Hetoxl where I outnumbered them 3 : 1 !!!
What kind of armies is hexoatl using?
