from then on, should be up to you what to do from there, but i usually turtle up to form my main army and then i start expanding.
On the first turn, have Franz kill the secessionist army with your starting troops, and if possible go ahead and capture Grunburg too. You also want to recruit a 2nd Lord at Altdorf, and have them start recruiting Swordsmen.
If you make like 6 more Swordsmen regiments, that will be enough to easily finish off the scessionists, so on the 2nd turn have Franz march back to Altdorf to pick up the new Swordsmen and recruit 3 more. Have your new Lord march through Middenheim, and get close enough to Eilhart that that Lord can attack it on the next turn.
On the 3rd turn, have that lone Lord encircle the town, and have Franz and the troops force-march through Middenheim to get there. You can go ahead and take the town that turn, or you can just encircle it and wait for the secessionist stack to come from Helmgart and attack you, if you don't want to fight them in a siege.
I recommend upgrading your rally field and getting some more Crossbowmen before doing the Bloodpine Woods quest.
Manually fight your early battles and make sure your elite units come out alive. That will be a HUGE benefit. (Reiksguard knights and handgunners) They can help you win a lot of battles early, but you can't let auto resolve just kill them.
Turn 2 take grunburg, just occupy. 2nd round of swords.
Turn 3 walk toward helmgart, a round of fcm
Turn 4 take helmgart, get more fcm, destroy field in altdorf. Build econ in altdorf.
Turn 5 take eilhart, complete 20 stack.
Level up your small towns to tier 2 as you go along. Grunburg then helmgart to get a tier 2 rallly field and tech.
Make sure to maximize trade and naps early on for money
From there its up to you, i usually killskullsmasherz and take marienburg before storming through brettonia, personally, but theres other options.
Id also recommend gelt as best starting lord by far, helps a huge amount once youre doing sieges, especially early on vs marienburg
The fact that I play gelt probably also skews this, since gelt+greatswords+mortars is a stupid good early game siege comp and i can wear enemies down with just searing doom and mortar fire.
