Own game 1 and play mortal empires.

you need the first game (so not a dlc). It's usually at -75% every sale nowadays so yo ucan get it for around 15€ if you wait for one.
You will also get the possibility of playing Empire, Dwarfs, Vampire counts, and Bretonnia with it, and will unlock the possibility of playing on the mortal empire maps (combined maps of game 1 and 2).
Note that to play any race of game 1 (so including orcs, you can't play on game 2 map, you need to play on the combined map (or on map1, but there's no point compared to the combined map).

One last thing, skarsnik (and a few greenskins units + the RoRs) are not part of game 1, they need the King and the warlord DLC on top of game 1, so that's a few more € to spend during a sale if you want that on top of the rest.

That's crazy... blood dlc and unlockable races if you buy the first game wtf... ok thanks

Blood DLC is for all the Total Warhammer games, not just the one you purchase it for. It shouldn't require the first game at all.

And yes, you unlock the races for the previous game if you purchase it. It's ridiculous to think otherwise. You also get access to the old world too, where those factions are located.

^
Game 1 - unlocks greenskins 3 lords (and empire, brettonia, vamp counts and dwarves)

Lord pack dlc - unlocks new units and a goblin LL (and a dwarf LL)

Blood dlc - works for the trilogy

Game 2 - 4 base races and with game 1 mortal empires megacampaign is unlocked

you have full game already. With full facitons.

It is other way around in this case. Instead of previous game being obsolete, you have it transported into next one. With all your purchases.

WHat you talk about would be an issue, if game in itself was not feature-complete.

what u don't see is that it was released obviously chronologically. u are allowed by using previous game content in this game by owning it obviously, that's how it works.

u don't need to buy all factions, on those u want to play. those who bought it back then paid only like 20€ every 3-4 months... think like that.

best greenskins/orcs are grimgor, wurrzah, azahag... the WAAGH mechanics is overall powerful tho. i play atm "red cloud" by faction unlocker and having a blast. once u waagh, u roll
