Vampire pirates ruined old world ...
I mean i am warhammer fan for years and yes i know all the origins and why they are in game but i think they were badly imported in game in one significant manner - they shoud be hordes.I mean i get that they attack coastal regions mainly and blah, blah blah but i really shoudn fight them in dwarf holds far inland. Its fine when they raid settlements and raze them or make that hidden base or something but settling ? its pretty lame and really breaks immersion when inland is full vampire pirates :/ If they were hordes like beastmen it woud make lot more sense to me. Do you agree or am i just cringy whiner ? :D

That said, I feel like they should have the Norsca rule of "Ports only."

It would kinda make more sense if they were like the Norscans and only took Coastal Settlements and Capitals. Though personally I think if at least one settlement is a Capital or Port, all other settlements in that region should be colonizable but only be able to build defenses and resource buildings.

I think there is too many Vcoast factions in concentrated area on ME but there doesn't seem like much CA could do now, none of factions could be moved in say game 3, the issue atm is its leading them to become very powerful, hopefully the two new factions coming will keep them occupied, the flc lizardman lord in lustria would be of great help aswell if he starts there...

i concur - from a lore point of view.

but: the entierty of tww represents a "what if"-state of warhammer-history.
from the second you boot up the game you in charge of things => chaos wins (or not), the vortex is stabilized (or not), the dreadfleet aspires to more than just piracy (or not), etc. etc...

the only thing about the migration patterns of the vampirates that - in my mind - needs tweeking by the devs is not how they behave but how ulthuan behaves!
their ai (in comparison to the vps) is waay underpowered and this makes it far too easy for harkon, noctilus and consorts to spread out over the rest of the world.
after all it's ulthuan which is targeted by the vampirates in the begnning of every campaign.

so: "vamping up" the kingdoms of the high elves to a state of the "naval superpower" - which they are supposed to be - should do the trick!!

you are not a whiner! ulthuan are! ;-)

How did they ruin anything, and it's good they get to fight dwarves and other inland races. Do you want a game or a slideshow where the same thing happens every time

Very good point !

I agree they are massively over represented. Who the hell wants to sail to the new world to explore the vampirate lustria kingdom of cyclostra or the southern realms of Sartosa/Thr Dreadfleet

Hopefully next patch nerfs them into the raiding pirates they are supposed to be.

Yes. They should never be able to conquer and hold territory, except maybe ports. I really hate seeing Vampirate Empires...Vempires? Hmmm

This should only be a thing for the real undead faction, TK and Counts, but not for the upstart lunatics from the coast...

I think they should be restricted to ports for settlements, anything else should not be coloniseable.

Preferably there should also be an attrition for inland provinces but that may be difficult to do and also hard to balance.

I disagree with you TC but I agree with the Ports only thing. Makes more sense, and with the pirate cove mechanic, you arent really needing to take settlements or provinces anyways, outside of your own.

To be fair I think the fact that they can have settlements is a bit bonkers as they have the ship settlements. They are somewhat overpowered as they get the best of both worlds. Pirate coves imo should be the only land buildings they can get, that or my post above.
